Really that comment about how Richie mixes classical music and rock and how he should stay in his lane. When of course this is Richie's lane. A lane which he really created. So in this instance he doesn't sound he knows this band and it's leader at all.

This my list of my favorite Rainbow albums as it stands today 9:47pm 2/1/23. This not to be confused with a ranking of their greatest albums in the order of their creative genius or influence. This is merely where they sit with me and my listening pleasure. Don't get it twisted. I like evrything Rainbow has released. Even the album with my least favorite excellent vocalist Graham Bonnet. I know the dude can wail. His voice is half pure virtuoso and half nails on the chalkboard for me. I wish it weren't so (lord knows I've spent enough time trying to enjoy his albums). No mention of the classic Can’t Let You Go from Bent Out Of Shape was surprising. I’ve always thought that apart from some light keyboard touches that that album isn’t any softer than the previous albums. I believe it’s a myth and it’s a fantastic album. 1. Rising 2. On any given day Bent Out Of Shape is my #1 Rainbow album and it is my go to Rainbow album as well. I listened to it twice last week! I bought it brand new on vinyl in 1983 and to this day, JLT's performance on that album is still astonishing!

The album i like the least is probably Straight between the eyes or Stranger in us all but Stranger in us all still had some really good songs like Black Masquerade, Wolf to the moon and Hall of the mountain king.

Never understand the low ranking of Bent out of shape I feel Blackmore and band best fused commercial rock with classical style rock it was in my opinion the best Rainbow album after Long live rock and roll definitely the best JLT Rainbow album

Bent Out Of Shape I give anything that has Dio and Cozy Powell the edge. I don't mind the turn to pop-rock and think the JLT albums very fine for what they are - they are just not what got me raving about Rainbow in the first place. It depends. It takes as much musical skill and imagination to write a great pop-rock tune like "Street of Dreams" as it does an epic like, say, "Stargazer" or "Gates of Babylon." In the end, it comes down to what you like. I have a soft spot for "Down to Earth" and nearly placed it at #2. I'd liked to have had more albums with Graham Bonnet, I think these could have been perfect pop-rock. I thought the sound became a little too soft in the 1980s. There isn't much, if anything, to separate the JLT albums and “Stranger in us All.” There are more outstanding tracks on the JLT albums, but I move “Stranger in us All” up a couple of ranks because I prefer Ritchie's guitar work in it. I just think the album rocks harder than the JLT albums. Why “Difficult to Cure?” I just love “Spotlight Kid,” “No Release” and “Maybe Next Time” just that little bit better than the great tracks on the other JLT albums. But there's really nothing in it. I like the albums. I'm intrigued to know what they would have sounded like with Graham Bonnet on vocals, with a slightly harder edge. I think there is a clear divide between the first four albums and the last four, a change in style. Some might prefer things harder, some softer. There's room for both. Overall, though, it's a strong set of albums, each with their own merits. Honestly, though ... "Tarot Woman" ... pow .. game over.
