Hi Lauren, Maurice in SC. Started playing violin at 8 yrs old and viola at 12 yrs with private lessons in addition to school orchestras. I was never taught practice techniques let alone scales and arpeggios. After 50 years under the bed, I picked up the viola and for 20 years have playd in our church orchestra. Recently I started private lessons again to correct some bad habits and scales and arpeggios are part of the regimen. I can see how they will be helpful. Thanks for a great video!

Yes I like arpeggios which I think would sound nice in an Ensemble.

Hi Lauren, my name is Christy and I have been playing fiddle for about 6 months on and off. I am still very much a beginner and need to learn to read music to get a better understanding of song I would like to learn to play. So excited to learn some songs from Rising Appalachia but I am self taught and still don't really know a lot. I'm certainly not familiar with Arpeggios but would like to be more proficient in them. I do love your channel and you are so inspirational. I really appreciate how easy you make it to follow along. Thanks again, any advice would be absolutely appreciated. :)

Lauren! Yep, I've been playing them in conjunction with scales. Let's get together for a lesson or two in a month or so--I've been working on 'Banish Misfortune' and a bunch of other stuff too, heh!

I haven't played them before because I'd not heard of them. I'm unsure of their benefit tbh - though I believe there is a benefit
