Is it worth taking a drop year after 12th for IIT and NID preparation? Considering the pandemic and online lectures, it is extremely stressful to manage school studies and study for design. I genuinely want to pursue this field but I am not sure if I will be able to make it in one attempt that too with my board exams and other entrance dates so close to each other.

@@shekharkoiri8116 You can try for uceed 2022 on January 23rd. If you cannot make it in the first attempt you can give uceed in 2023 again. They give you another attempt as 12th boards marks are valid for 2 years. The age criteria for giving uceed is that you have to be below 19 [i guess, I am not sure though] however, you can attempt the exam twice but only in 2 consecutive years {for example 2022 and 2023}

@Winnie the poo IIT accepts students from all fields for design. Only for IIT Guwahati, the student needs to have opted for science. I am a humanities student and have been studying for my uceed exam since 2 years with a proper coaching class. Of course for engineering you require PCM.

Heyy, i am studying in 11th too and it's so cool to find someone who is preparing for the same exam lol, i would just say you should start your preparations from now only so that you don't have much problem while managing all the exams and your pre boards :)

It's all about setting your priorities.... What is it that you want .... A rank at uceed or 90+% in boards.... IIT requires you to have minimum 65 % with a good rank in uceed exam... So say you have 75% in 12th and uceed air of 20.... You can easily get into IIT... But say you have 90% 12th but uceed air of 150... No guarantee you'll get into IIT... Most desing colledge look at your entrance exams score and portfolio...not much interested in your 12 board marks....

UI/UX has highest paying jobs .. although in NIFT minimum package allowed by -on-campus placement is 8 Lakh per Anjum , they can’t offer less than that to a NIFT GRADUATE. This is minimum.. maximum had been upto 18 lakhs also .

If you really want to pursue UI/UX, you should go for either private colleges or with online courses in Coursera, Udemy etc. As of me, I finalized of doing Fashion Communication and an online course for UI/UX side-by-side.
