I feel like a lot of series have a season where they don't really know where they are going and have to try to reinvent what's happening in the show. I remember feeling strange about this season when it first started. But I do love Spike as a regular character as well.

Yes, I completely agree, season 4 was absolutely that. I don't know if I mention it in the next video or in the first season 5 video, but I feel like season 4 was a shifting point. After that the entire mood of the show shifts and get darker, more serious and focused. So it does seem to me like they were trying to figure things out during season 4, and thankfully they did

I liked season 4 and I appreciate the show doing something different with the Initiative but I agree about Adam being a weak villain and the overall plot being weak as well, especially when compared to the previous season with the Mayor and Faith being the main focus. I did really like the final fight with Adam though, I thought it was really, really cool and like you said there are so many great things in this season; Spike, Anya(I love Anya), Faith coming back, and the introduction of Tara who became one of my most favorite characters in any show/movie/whatever. I love Tara and Willow so much, I just finished season 6 like a day ago and I won't spoil anything but I'm still reeling over all that happened but I'll save season 6 talk for later. But anyway, overall I think season 4 is flawed but very, very fun as well. Thank you Danielle.🧛‍♀️💤

It's so interesting how we agree on all the things Buffy, haha. It's so cool how you're watching it for the first time and thinking all the same things I still think after 2 of enjoying the show. Tara also became my most favourite character in the whole world ever. You'll notice how much love I have for her in the next part talking about the characters. And of course, that lead to extreme heartbreak in season 6, but that is for a later video. Thanks for another great comment :)

​@@ASMRvelous It's funny you mention that we agree on a lot of stuff because no joke I had that same thought after watching this lol. Like all the major things you've brought up throughout these videos are true in my opinion; Xander is annoying, Faith is cool as hell, Riley is boring, and Anya, Willow and Tara are awesome, just to name a few. I don't know, maybe I'll disagree with you on something in a future video but so far I'm just nodding in agreement while watching these lol. I'm going to start season 7 soon but I'm feeling melancholic about it because I don't want it to be over, I really have enjoyed this show and these videos so much.

@@Enrique_S I definitely understand. I had a hard very hard time dealing with the show ending. You're watching it in one go, but at the time the show had been with me for over 5 years. But personally, I'm very content with how they ended it and I hope you will be too!

Oh oui ! Parle-nous en français XDDD We translate every thing in France, I believe it is a cultural policy (like in Québec, but not so rigorous). We are known for our dubbing, for example, and it is difficult sometimes to see a film in cinema in its original language.

I talk a bit about this in the English language journey video I did. Most countries except for the Dutch speaking ones dub over pretty much everything. In Dutch we only have dubbed versions of children's movies. I'm so very glad about that because so much gets lost in translation. I would sometimes watch Buffy on French channels before I had the DVDs myself and I would just re-watch it anywhere I could, and it's like you're not even watching the same show. What makes Buffy shine is the writing, and translating it dulls the glow.
