ok cool been hoping for something like this I was shown how to do this back in the mid 1990s from a shaman in the Interior of the area I live in Canada's west coast but I have forgotten how to do it well she taught me so many things in only a few weeks that it was overwhelming and also which herbs to use the only one that I know of is sweet grass but where I live there really isn't any, plus a couple of years back I did my best to grow sweet grass but failed, to me sweet grass smells for me, it is the best and also is great for clearing energies I have to get it gifted, but I have to go quite far to get it already bundled so I stopped using it . on a side note, I love the look of those those scissors, they look old and actually made out of real metal. I also feel kind of silly I have your book went through it very fast a lot of information in there and even though I bought it preorder and have had it for a while I still haven't actually read it ( place shameful guilty look face here)

I'm quite new to using herb bundles for cleansing myself and my space.. do I need to adjust the string before it burns so it doesn't fall apart? Nowhere mentions about burning the string or adjusting it so it doesn't come apart. 🤗 thank you
@bebeaswitchlife
@bebeaswitchlife 3 ай бұрын
If you use herbs that are not 100% dried and put the string around it (and then let it further dry) nothing should fall apart while burning.😊Don't make the cord too lightly around the herbs though. I'm using organic cord and just let it burn with the herbs and that works perfectly fine! 🌿😊

Thank you so much for this. This really helps. How do i keep the herbs from molding when bundled together?
@alyseandrews1066
@alyseandrews1066 3 ай бұрын
personally, I've had a hard time open-air or hang drying some herbs without them molding, so I would dry any tender herbs before adding them. If you're using stuff like pine and cedar, it probably wont be a problem as long as it's stored dark, dry, cool, and plenty of airflow

If you have an electric oven, place your bundles in the oven with just the interior light on. The light creates just enough warmth and dryness to help evaporate residual moisture. I left mine in for about 24 hours. I don’t know if this method works with a gas oven since I’ve never had one.

Please be mindful of plants that might be endangered or part of a closed practice. Also, some plants could produce toxic fumes when burned. Even “safe” plants could irritate the respiratory system of people and animals.

Love smudging outdoors as part of my relaxing journey. Mugwort and lavender and meadowsweet, this combo is butiful. Mugwort infusion with fruit juice is a relaxing drink, and the smudge makes for a butiful relaxing night buy the fire outdoors.

Does smoke have any significance witchcraft? Just regular smoke? I can't recall what type of woods were burned (maybe cedar, oak, pine, and redwood if I were to guess), but when I was a kid, pretty much every time I was by an outside campfire, the smoke seemed to follow me around *constantly.* Even if I'd sit on the other side of the fire pit, the smoke would change direction after a minute or so. It could've just been the wind, but it's just something that happened to me *constantly* as a kid, and now I'm wondering if there's any witchy significance to it. My family would say "smoke follows beauty" and then joke about "oh the smoke thinks you're beautiful" to whoever the smoke would blow towards. Obviously, I wasn't the only one of my family who had smoke blown in their direction, but I often felt oddly targeted in a way. I felt growing up like "the smoke liked me," if that doesn't sound like an absolutely *wild* thing to say or think. I'm still pretty new to the craft, so to the more knowledgeable and experienced witches, please weigh in if you know something about this. Edit: Also, my family is in a Christian fundamentalist cult and have no experience with witchcraft whatsoever. My dad only burned extra/leftover wood just to get rid of it and enjoy a fire, it wasn't done with any deeper purpose than that.
