I’m notoriously terrible with plants, but these are the first I’ve had really flourish under my care. I was looking for info on how to prep them for winter (although they’re still producing blooms and buds in NY now in late September) so thank you so much for that info. Really hoping next year for a bit denser growth. Right now it’s HUGE😬

Greeting's from Ireland, These are the only annual's I have, I grow them from seed and grow them in pot's for the summer. In autumn I collect the seed's and grow them in a propagator in spring.

Google says "The genus Osteospermum was named by Carl Linnaeus in 1753" and refers to the very hard seed. Thanks for your information, I will know to take them in over Winter!

I keep getting tons of tiny bugs that crawl all over the flowers. Not aphids or spider mites. They look like little worms. Just teeeny tiny. They’re not on the leaves or stems. Just the flowers. I’ve tried so many things to get rid of them and they come back within a day.

Hello Sheila 👋 in my opinion, yes they sure can! Just make sure they get some dappled shade later on in the day so they don't bake in the heat :)
