You described the situation perfectly! I was offered the budesonide for my mild patchy lymphocytic colitis but I read about the side effects and said no thanks. They also just recommend high doses of Imodium daily 🤦🏻‍♀️ I had never had problems until I went through a years worth of treating Cdiff and then was left with a lot of inflammation. But You are so right that the GIs have no clue was causes that 😩 I will go months with no flare ups, then weeks of diarrhea as it suddenly starts up again. I do know that eating a high fiber diet makes mine much worse just the opposite of what they tell you to eat. The fodmap diet didn’t help either. Right now I am mostly carnivore with salad and more easily digested veggies. I’m doing good but if it starts in again I will certainly be giving you a call. But if anyone is frustrated with their GI doctors this is definitely the place to go. Just watching your videos has helped me tremendously as I don’t feel crazy anymore. They tend to downplay your situation and blame it on stress or depression 😢😢😢 as if there’s no physical reason for your symptoms. And I’ve seen GIs at Swedish and at Gastro Health in Edmonds!!! 😉😉

Same here! Was also offered budesonide, but didn't want to take it. I mostly have mine under control with a really restricted diet as well. For me it's low lectins, low histamine and not too much fiber as you mentioned. My safe food is beef. Last few days I had the idea to try out sweet potato again - I haven't left the bathroom much since 😅

I was dx 13 years ago and they tried EVERYTHING. So now their response is- Well you likely have IBS as well and that is masking any success with the treatments. 😂. I just deal with it now.

I can think of at least 100 things it could be, and that is one possibility. But it's probably at lot more complex than that.
