29:15 "Get outside of yourself" is actually the only possible mindset that allows you to objectively identify the things you can control and to make an action plan. Stress signals you only recognise from within are unfiltered and overwhelming which leads to a stagnating state/lifestyle where you remain inactive and eventually lose control over your life if you don't take on your responsibility to break the cycle!!!

I have some tips: 1. If you are struggling reaching out by call or talking, sometimes emailing or texting can be better. You say the same thing, but it may be less stressful. I struggle with my mom to tell her my stuff so I email her and put notes in her bed. I find this method works for me. 2. If you have a counsaler or something, figure out how to get their contact and when you are down and feel that you need them, you can always contact them. This has helped me extremely much. I find that if you find a staff member that you really trust and have them be the person you go to. Having an adult to talk to is amazing. 3. Don't be scared to cry. Often times people think that showing emotion is bad, but it's not. Find a quit place and know that it's ok. Think about it and tell yourself that if you need time, it's ok and if you need a break to cry, don't think your pretty and take it. 4. Have a positivity journal. If you are just writing negative things, that's not good. Have a sperate journal or section where you right positive things everyday before you go to bed. I recommend putting exclamation points after setences. I hope this helps!!!

Me during this first spicy situation: “you could just communicate the problem to the person and if they say something that invalidates your feelings or make it seem like you’re crazy or making things up, then you know they don’t care. But if they take your concern into consideration and make a change, then it’s worth giving them another shot and working from there.” Dani: *the only one to really being up communication* lol. THANK YOU! But yeah Rachel, if you’re reading this, communication is key in every relationship of your life. Family, friends, romance, professional, etc. Take it from someone who had to learn the hard way! Utilize it!

I used to think like that... "I'll not talk about it because no one is going to understand", just because a few people who I talked with had not understood me. But then I change my mindset to something like, "people are different so they have different opinions too"... then keep trying to talk about with different people, but not saying that it was about me, kinda questioning like "if someone would feel like that or you what would you do?" And I received a lot of positive points of view that helped me a lot. I hope that helps you.

One way that’s easy is to go to a guidance counsellor at school, you can go with a friend, or go when you have a course change or timetable conflict. Then after you ask about your course change, ask something small, like, by the way, do you have advice if I’m feeling sad? Or by the way, what are somethings I can do that will help me when I feel sad??Then you can get into a conversation from there, it’s not hard to say and might not be scary or make it seem like you’re trying to get into a big conversation with your counsellor. It will be difficult the first time but I promise it actually gets easier, and feels SO GOOD to let it off your chest!!!

I mean... Christina and Nick have a beautiful love story, we've known about them for years, so it was really exciting to know they'd get married!!! But... Katherine and that guy ???? They dated for like two years ???? No one knows the guy ???? Don't you think it's weird that Katherine posted a q&a with him as soon as Christina got married? She was soooo desperate to have the attention Christina received that she started talking about marriage and stuff even before the guy proposed. I'm pretty sure she BEGGED him to propose. She thought she'd have all the hype Christina had, but oh boy she was wrong. Not even her SISTERS were that excited for her because all of them know that she's an attention seeker

Another way to help your own mental state is to stop and listen to someone else talk about their own problems for a while. Taking the time to listen to a friend or family member talk about what is going on in their lives and thinking about their issues and giving advice to them can help you feel so much better about whatever problems you are facing because it gets you out of your own head for a while and thinking about someone else for a time and I always find it easier to think about and deal with my own problems after helping someone else

What Christina is talking about noticing it early is called "biofeedback" in psychology land. It's actually really great that Christina is so aware of this because some people can take a year in therapy to learn how to notice the signs your body/brain are giving you before it turns into a meltdown. This is actually extremely good advice/stuff to be aware of for people who find themselves constantly spiraling. Christina, you need to write a book!

I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder when I was 21 (I’m exactly 2 weeks older than Christina) and am on medication for it. I also went for counselling when I was first diagnosed. I have fears of getting really sick and dying (the summer I turned 18 my right side just inside my hip hurt off and on, usually at night, but it sometimes went on for days; one night it got so bad I legit thought I had appendicitis, but I didn’t have a fever. Then in late September it disappeared for good), and also having surgery, among other things. This past winter my anxiety was really, really bad (it was so cold and long where I live, and my doctor said she’d seen twice as many anxious people and sore throats/colds that she normally sees), and sometimes I would get so out of control that my parents told me to stop being so dramatic and it’s all in my head, and stop choosing to be like this (two of the things you are NOT supposed to say to someone with an anxiety disorder). I am going to save up and buy myself a SAD lamp this fall, and during my piano and voice lessons, my teacher and I practice deep breathing from the pelvis up (she taught me that we actually laugh from our lower abdominal muscles), and then slowly letting it out using a hissing sound by putting my tongue up against my closed teeth; it sounds like meat sizzling on the barbecue. She also taught me all about God’s love for me and that we’re all here for a reason, which has made me reflect on Christianity more. My parents were both raised Christian but my two younger brothers and I weren’t, although we still fully celebrate Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter and say grace before dinner; we just don’t go to church (I’ve been a few times, though, by myself).

I would like to say thank you for everything you guys put in the podcast because I have a lot of self doubt and sometimes I'm a heavy thinker because I love to think about life and help people because I love people. I have a lot of self care and stress but the main thing I do is to talk to my mom or my Grandma or my teacher at school because I feel safe to talk to them because I know that they won't leave my side. The other thing is to refresh my brain and have time with God and Jesus because they will never leave me and I love to take long showers and be by myself and clean my room or read a book or bible. The next to the last thing is to watch KZbin videos because I love watching other people what they do in their lives and listening to music I love to listen to church music because I'm a Christian and I'm proud of myself that I have people in my life to talk to. The last and main thing is to be more healthy and open to people because I get really scared to do that but I want to push myself and I want to be more healthy like go to the gym and eating healthy. Thank you so much for the podcasts I love them so much and I love to check into my life and see what my future looks like.

I was in a busaccident (a very very tiny one. Just drove out of the road), but that was like the last straw for me and my mental health. Afterwards i felt sick everytime i was out with my friends, at the mall, at the train, everywhere except from at home. Some years prior i had watched a youtube video about anxiety (social), and i was like « i can`t have that. Im all happy and i have’nt gone through bad things». Then i was at a birthday at my aunts house and i got a big panic attack. I was crying and it felt like is was going to die. I didn`t know what it was back then so i was terrified. My mom drove me home and again i felt fine. I was thinking for a looong time before i sent my mom a message saying «can you come upstairs, need to talk». She came in and i just asked her straight out «do you think i have anxiety?», she was like «i don`t know, maybe». Then she told me we could go and see a doctor and that was when i got diagnosed with social anxiety. I didn`t tell my friends at first because i didn`t want to be in the way so i lied to them and told them i was diagnosed with a random disorder. Don`t do that kids, don`t do that. I was 14 at that time (17 now) and i didn´t know that mental health issues was very common, but i told them eventually. I`ve had so many kind people to talk to: my mom and dad (dad has also problems with anxiety), my bestfriend who has death anxiety, my other friend who has a big sister with anxiety and depression and many more. In august i switched to an other school because of the school system in Norway because it was the last year, so everyone had to. I looked at this as an oppurtunity to change the way i viewed myself. I didn`t like presentations, i didn`t like to talk to strangers so i decided that i was going to pretend to be confident in those things because none of the people in the new class knew me so they didn`t know that i dont like presentations. THIS HELPED ME SO MUCH. First day of school i talked to alot of people and i are lunch with them and stuff. I had presentations and it went well. I was like «be the person you want to be». Not having to stress about presentations and actions i do, is such a realief. I´ve worked on alot off other things, but that hasnt really anything to do with my anxiety, but my actions and how i want to behave. After i started getting better at those things, i had to do the same with taking the bus, train, plane and going to the mall. Just whatever you do, don`t just sit inside. Go out and do the things you loved before you were in a bad place, and those things will get less and less scary everytime. Now i go to the mall alone, take the train alone, have presentations in front of the class and im kinda outgoing, im still working on taking the bus, but i do take it alot. I still have a lot of things to work on like being in an airport and in a plane. But im going to travel alot and im so excited for it. I have a really kind teacher who i talk to alot about my problems, she understands me and she is open to help me with the things im scared of when it come to school. I`ve also gotten alot of new friends who have problems too. One of my really good friend has anxiety too and also bloodfobia, and my other friend has depression and personality changes (don`t Remember the name of it). They always come to me if they need to talk and i love helping them by listening. Im so grateful that they come to me because i don`t feel alone in my situation and like Dani said; help others to get out of your own headspace. It do really help, because i feel like i matter to them and that i can be the reason why they feel better about themselves that they because i listened. I also want mention that a few months ago i was cleared from social anxiety because i don`t get anxiety because of people anymore. Now i have just anxiety in general. Im always scared of something happening around me when im traveling or i a place that is unknown. Around here, so many people take suicide in front of trains and that`s what i`m the most scared of happening while im on the train. Airports and plane just because of the thought of not getting out of there if anything happens, but i`ve been getting better with travelling too. So all you got to do is just decide that you dont want to be like that and find out how you can get better at the things you`re scared of. The more you jump in those scary situations, the less scary it will be. This is just generally with anxiety, but it might work for others too. If anyone have any questions, im open for it❤️

Can relate to Kat’s story at 8:15 not with a partner but with one of my close friends who always said she loved me but never made an effort to show it. She always spent her free time hanging out with her other friends. And it all culminated on my birthday last month when she said she couldnt be there for me on my birthday bc she was playing a 12 hour DnD session. That was apparently the only day they could all meet up but she didnt even think to be like “Sorry I cant be there on your day but you wanna do ______ on this date” or whatever to make up for it. So not only did she tell me the DAY OF that she couldnt be there but also that she essentially chose her own friends over me. And on top of that she didnt even play the game the entire time. She just played games on her computer and took naps in between

I rewatched this podcast for various reasons and took down some notes on my journal. I can relate to Christina about the whole Camomile Tea thing, it really does work tea Camomile especially it helps you cope through your night and calms your anxiety. It’s a Natural Herb to Help Cope through Stress and Anxiety. A big take away from this podcast is that I really like how each of them mentions “Embracing the thought, and the Feeling” of Anxiousness or some other thing, and dealing from it from then. I think most people today just dodged that thought of the way, but anyways I’m sharing this to my friends. Thanks for the tips :)

I dated someone for 3 years with mental health problems in my late 20's. It was SO hard to be there for her whenever she needed me. We could have ended it many times but we really kept trying for each other. We were tested in all sorts of ways. I'd never take that time back because I really learned a lot about relationships, being a man, and depression/anxiety.

Not sure if 211 is all over but in Nv they help with all different kind of resources. Dial 211 ask for whatever you need help for. Like shelter, therphy, food, mental, and so on.

@@maxmorgan783 as a poor college student, five dollars is a lot to me. Hell, one dollar is a lot to me. If I'm gonna be spending that much, I'm gonna make sure it's on something that I need or something I will use every day. Not on a video.

@@maxmorgan783 that was uncalled for. Some of us are kids! Heck, the majority of consumers on this site are kids. Kids with parents who won't spend money on this kind on thing.

Here in Brazil most of the psychology universities have free clinic so you can go and get one free session (plantão) and some universities even have like four sessions, and then (all of them I think) put u on a waiting list for therapy, like, followed sessions, not only a "urgent" one. But the urgent one is open to everyone, u just look up if there's any psychology universities near u and if they have a clinic, then how it works etc, it's mostly u just show up and wait for your turn, cause it's open etc. Idk if every country does that, but if you're Brazilian and you're here looking for tips, that's the one I know, cause I study psychology and that's what I'm aware (Plantão de atendimento, depois do plantão você entra na lista para aguardar ser chamado para o acompanhamento psicológico mesmo, isso leva tempo pq a lista de espera é longa, mas o plantão é na hora, só chegar e esperar)

I want to say that I struggled a lot with depression and anxiety especially this year but what I found helped was I downloaded an app called Pacifica which has support groups on there with other people who feel the same as you. Please reach out people. You aren’t alone 1 in 4 people suffer from a mental illness if anyone needs advice I’m here.❤️

I’m going to tell a story how I reached out to somebody for support. I was really struggling with some emotions about my future. I was so stressed about my study, earning enough money and a future job, that I basically got so scared of it, that I didn’t want to do anything anymore. I was so scared to fail in life, that my stress prevented me from doing anything future related (study, working...). I didn’t want to reach out to any of my friends, because I didn’t want to show them that I was failing. I was also very scared to go to my parents, because they paid so much for college and stuff, that disappointing them would mean the end of the world to me 😅 But, I really wanted to tell my emotions to someone to get rid of my stress and feelings and I also wanted to tell it to an adult (because they have experience with getting a job, etc.) So the person that was the most similar to my mom, was my mom’s best friend. She knew what I was doing in my life and she had always supported me. Once I picked out the right person, I needed a good approach to ask them for help. Texting was the easiest for me, because you don’t have to face someone and you can overlook your text 1000 times. It took me a long time to write my text, but it basically said that I was struggling with some stuff and that I just wanted to tell it to somebody who would understand me/it, without judging me. Sending the text was the hardest, but I set a timer for and I told myself that I had to send it before the alarm would go off. The time limit helped and I got the sweetest text back! After a lot of texting, she gave me the strength to talk about it to my parents and my friends and everybody was so supportive! It really helped me finding motivation again and I can say that I’m doing well today ☺️
