Never boring Frank, always something to take away that I didn't know - like the 'W' stands for winter and I didnt know about problems swapping oil types. Thanks for sharing.

I use DELO 15/40 diesel and Valvoline 15/40 desel #2. ALWAYS high detergent even in compressors and washer pumps. Lucas in transmissions and heavy oils like DELO for smokers. Used DELO in my S-10 with the 4.3. MAXED oil pressure at 195 at idle , Gauge pegged. DELO and Deere oil have flattappet additives.BLESSINGS!

You did not cover history, Historically, oils used to only be 1 weight (SAE 30, SAE 40, SAE50 etc). 60's or 70's they came up with the W oils. Also, the BIG thing you did not mention, that peoples need to know, is prior to the 70's or 60's, the oil did not have detergents. THAT RIGHT THERE IS WHY when you crack open those old engines they have caked in oil in the nooks and crannies. It usually HAS NOTHING to do with how often they changed the oil. Its hilarious to watch these youngsters (and oldsters) with these KZbin videos say: "Well you can see they never changed the oil", Back in them day, it did not matter if you changed the oil all the time, that non detergent oil caked where it moved more slowly! So, youngsters, wise up!
