Angie I have been meaning to make this comment for a few years. Your English is amazing near native fluency. We all forget words even as native speakers. Living in the US you will start to see just how good at it you are. I doubt most people will even notice you are not a native speaker unless you tell them. I had just found Mel's channel and watched the last one she posted in which she talked about Wayne Goss, then I heard about her passing and then I heard Wayne talk about her and it about tore me up inside. I am going through all her old videos and I hope they never take her channel down. She was such a beautiful person.

I always get strong "hello fellow kids" vibes from BH Cosmetics Say It collection. In general they seem a little out of touch with their customers. I hope they can do some market research to get their brand really going again. I think I know what's coming tomorrow and I'm SO excited! I'm having a new makeup no buy but I think I might have to break it for this one.

It's so true. BH US is so blatantly out of touch. The releases, the missed opportunities, and their comments regarding the celebrity collabs. Just... So absurd. I don't understand. There are so many regular consumers who can look at the brand, and point out some of their obvious missteps, missed opportunities, and weird priorities. BH Germany does PR. They actually work with beauty creators. They're on social media. But, BH US doesn't seem to understand the difference between celebrity collabs and influencer collabs. 1) People don't implicitly trust celebrity merch and collabs. We generally assume that they're just money grabs. People often DO trust a few of their favourite beauty content creators, because they have parasocial relationships with them. We feel we know influencers, at least better than we know celebrities. 2) Doja Cat ain't out here doing a "10 looks with MY new BH collab collection" video, and an extra 3 or 4 GRWMs using the palette, over the next month or two. Influencers do, even if not contractually obligated. 3) In contrast to celebrities, influencers often aren't given a huge upfront bonus, so they primarily make money based off of the number that sells. And they can help hype the products up, and they often do. Again, even if not contractually obligated, they'll release multiple videos featuring their collab products. It just makes sense for them to do so. BH really needs to up their photography game. I've often been really underwhelmed by their colour stories, until seeing them in people's videos. Their own photography doesn't make me want to buy. They've done some really strange things, too. Like, I checked the BH US site on Dec 26, to see if the birthstone palettes had been bundled up, or anything... And all but 2 had been deleted from the site, already. Not even sold out, just disappeared. I have no idea why they didn't bother to bundle them. I know so many people were waiting for them to do that. A full bundle, 2 half year bundles, 3 bundles of 4. It just would have made sense. It was just such an obvious miss. And they wonder why almost nobody pays full price... When they have 50% off sales around 6x per year. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The only people who need to buy early are influencers, basically. The rest of us just have to wait a month or two. Plus, the huge lineup of products that literally no one likes. It costs a lot of money to keep all of that fresh and in warehouses and on shelves. They have so many disjointed product lines, and it's so hard to tell who or what they're for, sometimes. Multiple primers, multiple sprays, but which one is for matte skin, or for dewy skin? Nobody knows. The product name and descriptions aren't great. It's like they just released a set that failed, so they tried again, and released another set, but didn't discontinue the first, for some reason. It's just so bizarre. Nobody ever talks about anything BH, except for the pressed powders and brushes. Get rid of everything else, and start again. Think about how products will fit into your brand. Release lines of products, with names that at least HINT at who they're for. Like, 2 separate lines of complexion products, one for matte skin, one for dewy skin. Start out with some good quality products that people actually use up and buy again. Some good quality brow products, maybe 2 ranges of nude lipsticks, to start (matte and glossy finishes). Some gloss balms and lip masks. Things that people actually use up and repurchase. They don't have anything like that, currently. They're not really "the best" at anything, except for eyeshadows (and pretty good at brushes, for the price). And people don't repurchase eyeshadow palettes or brushes, generally. I just don't understand how they've become so out of touch, honestly. It's just so strange.

I totally agree with you about the Pat McGrath eyeshadow. I bought the Mothership Divine Rose II and it was good quality but didn't blow me away. I was expecting the formula to blow my mind because of all the hype around her products, so your not the only one thinking this. However, I love her foundation - so there is that. Love your videos!

I remember the videos you did on the MUG x Manny MUA ❤️ At the end of one of them you shared what you would have liked to see a pink shade in the palette. I thought this was a great idea and switched out the medium orangey-brown for a Sydney Grace medium pink 💕 You made me think of palettes and color stories from another perspective and I still do this to this day. With regards to your feelings about the tiny marveles palette, I had a similar experience my best friend passed away suddenly at the age of 37 last year out of nowhere I was on vacation and had to drive back 8 hours in the middle of the night. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in my life and I miss her every single day. I've been through so much without her and it's a struggle just to keep my head above water but you know we can remember our loves and our time together and be stronger for the experiences we've had.
