That's because they don't concern themselves with political affairs really and they were able to continue without being toppled. They remained like a figurehead like what we have for a President in India. In fact with even less intervention than the President. They were always away from the public eye. The nobles in the feudal system had the real power and despite having their own internal conflicts, the nobles always pledged their allegiance to the Chrysanthemum throne. It was very convenient really. The emperor isn't going to ask questions. They can always say their loyalty is to the emperor. It works for everyone. Similarly no one aimed to become emperors because who'd want to be a figurehead with no power. So the family's position was always safe.

Diet Glue Please understands that this is a tradition that date since 2 000 yrs and that it is written in the constitution. Rewriting the constitution is a VERY SENSIBLE TOBIC in Japan. Tradition is not just a bunch of rules but the reason why Japan is Japan. Japan opened up to the world just 200 yrs ago and things are changing for the greater good but also negatively. I will suppose that you are in a western country, pls excuse me if not. The 2020 of your country, of your continent is not the same as the 2020 of Japan. Personally i would love to see an Empress Regnant on the Chrysanthemum throne but things need to go slowly and with fluidity.
@LeoNaRdOBarRuGA4 жыл бұрын
Why does it need to be change?? Would it hurt your ass for not letting a woman to be an Empress ? So what if its now 2020? We are talking about TRADITION here not Politics. Government and Being the Emperor are two different things unlike in his grandfathers time. For Japanese, Emperors are like descendants of the sun, a leader, a godlike for shinto Japanese (just like Catholic Pope) Japanese are practicing that 2000+ years ago up to present, who are you to question that tradition?
@ArcadianWizard4 жыл бұрын
@@LeoNaRdOBarRuGA wow you seem really pressed lol. It's really up to them if they want to change their tradition or not but I do think that some traditions should change.Just because something is an old tradition doesn't mean its right. It used to be Mayan tradition to literally kill people and give human sacrifices to their gods. Imagine if Mayan culture was still around today and if Mayan people were protesting that human sacrifices shouldn't end because in was an old tradition. My point is, some traditions should change to keep up with the times. If some traditions didn't change, we'd still be living in the Stone Age. Also, I think it's very sad that you think having a female emperor is "political". There is nothing political about giving women an equal chance to rule.

They are JAPANESE. Educated and Kind, so you dont have to associate it with your NONSENSE rebuttal about Mayan Murdering Tradition shit, Having a Male Emperor for 10,000 years MORE wont HURT anyone. I want to remind some persons who want to Japanese Imperial Family to change its inheriting rules easily, about a clear logical question. The Japanese Imperial Family, is the oldest Imperial Family in the world, and the only one. Different with any European Royal Family, like the UK's, Belgian's, or the Thai's Royal Family, or even the ancient Chinese Imperial Family. It's connected with religion, the emperors, are always the descendants of Amaterasu-ōkami. It is the only thing that never can be changed. So, what do you want to do if allow female to inherit when she only could marry with male civilians? Or do you guys want she to intermarry?
@sudeshna29833 жыл бұрын
How does marrying a male civilian make her any less of a descendant of the goddess? If male members can marry commoners and still become emperors, the female members should be allowed too. I don’t see any logic here. Or are you saying females are incompetent? When Amaterasu is a goddess herself.
@capixolucius44523 жыл бұрын
@@sudeshna2983 It's the contradictory logic. Amaterasu was female but not her son, nor her grandsons. Even there were female emperors in historical Japan but all of them didn't marry. Today's the Imperial Model stipulate that once female married with civilization, according the rules of same family names of husband and wife, their will lose their imperial identities. The logics are three. First, the family names must be same. Second, the stipution of Imperial Model. Third, they don't admire the female immediate families. If you still don't know the key points about the problem instead of stop the vicious circle, then the talking could be stopped.
@capixolucius44523 жыл бұрын
@@sudeshna2983 Oh. Sorry, I reread your comment again. There is not only about the descendants of god, but also the Imperial relationships and descendants.
@sudeshna29833 жыл бұрын
@@capixolucius4452 You are contradicting your initial comment. You said the Imperial family can’t change rules about the inheritance because it’s connected with religion and the rulers should always be descendants of Goddess Amaterasu. In that sense females are also equally eligible because they all have the same blood whatsoever. Just because they marry civilians doesn’t make them have to lose their identity. It’s a rule, I know but it’s so ancient. They can consider changing it because they are currently running out of heirs. She can just opt out of choosing her husband’s family name and continue with her own legacy, that’s all it takes. Let’s say she doesn’t marry, still that doesn’t make her next in line to succession, does it? I feel like it has less to do with marriage and more to do with genders. That’s just my opinion.
@capixolucius44523 жыл бұрын
@@sudeshna2983 I see what do your words mean. Please tell me, in your description "she can opt out of choosing her husband's family name", could I think it as it happens after they married? Does it mean that Aiko sama need to divorce? Maybe it is Ok for recover her Imperial identities and religion identity after they have been gave up, though it is a bad reputation. But I really don't know how could we change Japanese cultural opinions as well as the law rules about the same family names with husband/wife. Maybe change laws or rules are easy (actually they are not), but how about the cultures? After marriages, how about will their children be? Following mother's identity? Then could he be the next emperor? No, can not be under today's Imperial Model. Following father's identity? Then what is the significance of marriage?

google translate Some foreigners want Aiko to be the emperor. I think it's good because there was a female emperor in history. However, the problem is the successor problem when Aiko became the emperor. In the past, even if a female emperor's child became an emperor, the child's father was a royal family. However, Aiko's spouse is not necessarily the imperial family. In that case, if you follow your paternal ancestors, you will not reach the emperor. And the long history of the imperial family disappears. Such a problem.

You must be some pseudo European mentality fella to address them by their names, they have a title its just not hanging there,.. try using it like the way u used it with other royal families,.. and btw its Japanese Imperial Family not Royal Family,there is a difference

I was wondering why HELLO! didn't call Ayako as Princess Ayako but daughter,unlike her brothers-Prince Naruhito and Prince Fumihito. But then I suddenly realize that if Princesses were to married to a commoner, she'll have to abandond her title and become a commoner herself😢 Japan's royalty is too rough( makes me think that some certain person should know to just shut up,stop blaming everything but herself and learn what appreciation mean.If she were to wed into the Japan's, she wouldn't last for a week)

Wow. Great propaganda for the Imperials who joined forces with Hitler and committed brutal atrocities, even after Germany surrendered. These people are "honorary Aryans" who refuse to give up the shameful title!!! Wth, Hello mag. How much did this ad payout!?
