All About The Metallic Foxface or Magnificent Foxface or Rabbitfish

How did I pass up this fish!? Well better late than never. This is one of the prettiest fox face fish you can get, but they do come with a price tag. I do recommend you get about a 120g because they can get up to 8 inches long and they need plenty of swimming room. They really will not mess with your corals unless they are not fed properly so feed them ALOT!

Did you added them all together ? I just brought one magnificent and when added to the tank my old vulpinus start attacking him. I just wonder did will stop or I need remove one ( I don’t want remove my old vulpinus because I had him for long time but my wife love the new magnificent)

I have a magnificent foxface in a 75g but it’s only like 2.5-2” and he’s in a coral tank he’s fine when we first had him it was 1 cube of frozen food no corals disappeared but we have a zebrazoma tang in with him and they’ll sometimes fight over the food but we only got ours for £30.00 we had another rabbitfish with him but that rabbitfish died from old age and he was heart broken so we put him in the main tank and now whenever someone comes round he’s the star and everyone’s amazed by him cause magnificent foxfaces aren’t normally in tanks it’s normally a boring old yellow one Edit: we’re either getting a margined coral fish for the tank but the last week of term if the shop doesn’t have a margined coral fish then we have a zebra soma tang for the empty gap in the tank since our copperband needs a replacement cause it died

Why does this one need a 120 but the yellow fox face needs a 70 ? They grow about the same so they both need bigger min a 125 ? But even tho that shouldn’t be a forever home

He’s 4”, kinda getting picked on by a threadfin snapper, 7”, I think it’s territorial aggression. Any recommendations to fix the aggression? Does the mirror trick work with other fish besides tangs?

One thing is it is possible to have a foxface and rabbitfish in the same tank I think it’s the same rule as the zebrasoma tangs an odd number is better Edit: Because we had a HUGE crash that wiped out our old fish we got another foxface (cause they’re to adorable) but then we thought before we bought him we saw him in with a 1-2” one spot foxface so when our 1-2 hour away LFS gets a magnificent foxface we will probably get him a buddy but just in case put the new one in an acclimation box

My fox face lived with my blue line rabbit fish and were always together like a couple. Maybe it worked bc i have a 250 gallon with the rocks built up basically to the top so there is a million hiding spaces.
