Definitely buying one. Its always on my bucket list but the specimens Ive seen are either too thin, too pale, or just sick. I saw a couple that were perfect but they were reserved at the time. Im definitely diving into that one day and I already have a name planned which is Princess Alice.

Especially considering how many mistakes I've made and how low-brow of a hobbyist I am compared to most I think there are some species and community tank builds in general that are way more doable for the average person based on their goals. I set up my tank like a half open-style buffet and McDonalds Play Palace merged into one environment. Adjusted clean-up and filtration around the messy fish and rocky environment. A lot of my fish were meant to be temporary rescues from my old work but I got busy and could never catch them. I would see so many recommendations on Copperbands and Regals requiring pristine water and I feel like in truth they are smart and social creatures that like exploring and picking at things and get stressed with food they can't fit into their mouth along with not having much to preoccupy them. My tank is an eclectic mess and kind of hideous but they also have been really content and lively. Again I don't think I am a great owner---it's just I feel like there's probably more types of strategies out there that haven't been given enough curiosity. It always seems to go back to what's the biggest priority for corals is inferred to be most important for most fish. I think adequate stimulation, age of starting captivity, and nutrition are lilely some of the biggest deals with some fish/inverts even. My Cleaner Wrasse, Copperband Butterflyfish, and Regal Angelfish are 3 of these types of fish that I think may just be misunderstood. At the very least I don't really see these fish getting diseases all that easily either. These fish also all read as solitary extroverts to me

Does the tank have to be 125 gallons or can it go in a 90 gallon

Hi, the tank size tends to be a recommendation. 90 Gallons will be fine, you may need to consider rehoming in about 5 years when they reach that 8" mark. But for a baby, 90G is fine for a few years

Mine is in a 90 with a copperband and both of them are more motivated to explore caves and pick at rocks. They also like to interact and watch the outside world like my Blue-spotted Toby pufferfish. I think a young Regal if it seems happy and spunky and grows into the 90 is probably fine unless it seems stressed. I'd watch for behavior like extensive glass surfing. Mine is very 'nosy'. Wants to investigate things more than do laps around the tank.

Hi Brock can you help me I have a green bubble tip anemone and my double saddle butterflyfish keep taking chunks out of it my local fish shop is getting me some purcula clownfish for me but it might take a few weeks they said as they are hard to get at moment in the mean time can you suggest any thing I can do will I die if it keep attacking it I thought of putting anemone in a trap box and put it in tank to protect it for a few weeks thanks dawn

Dawn Gentry Yeah those butterfly fish are bad about picking at corals. Do you have some Tupperware that’s see through that you could block the anemone off with? That’s your best bet if you want to keep the butterfly. Once the clowns come in, they should protect it again.

@@BrockLeonard first few days he was a chicken, but now on the fourth day hes munching on clams, seaweed and shrimp. easily is intimidated by bigger faster moving fish like tangs and wrasses. hes getting better day by day tho. looks like he should make it okay. I would deff make this one of my first fish in the tank instead of what i did making it almost the last. We'll see how it goes though. I would classify it as a difficult fish but not expert.

Yasi chemmapilly What’s up Yasi! Angels can be real picky at the beginning on food. Sometimes you gotta get food that you don’t have. First question is what are you feeding her? And second, is she a tleast picking on the rocks?

Yasi chemmapilly okay its good she is picking on the rocks because that means she is atleast getting some source of food. Keep trying to feed her the other food, she’ll eventually take charge. Are you turning your current off when feeding? That way the food isn’t just blowing around the tank crazily.
