All about the West Highland white terrier

I have a beautiful Westie girl. Emily is almost two years old now so the mischievous nature is settling , or so I thought after chewing up around 17 pairs of shoes, two pairs of leather gloves etc, I thought “Oh frabjous joy, ..” (with apologies to Mr Rudyard Kipling), she is settling down a bit. Now she picks up any cuttings left behind after pruning and brings them into the house for a chew. She is especially fond of cuttings from roses, thorns and all. The dead livestock gifts hasn’t changed though. I am presented with dead mice, rats, birds and even a rabbit once. I love her to bits and she makes me laugh every day.

Westies are extremely confident and brave. Their antenna (tail) are always up wherever they go. You rarely see a Westie with its tail between its legs. They will approach any human or dog without fear.
