The Davis and Sanford tripod is amazing! The only gripe I have about it is that in the cold the head freezes up and is almost unmovable. So unless you plan to do a lot of filming in temperatures below freezing, It's perfect.

Bought the Davis and Sanford a few years ago and I absolutely love it!

Guys, he didn’t talk about the leg locking mechanisms, they’re super important on set. Don’t get legs that are sectioned off and need to be unscrewed to adjust. Clamps are 1000x faster and easier and just as reliable.

The fluid head showcased throughout the whole length of the video is the Manfrotto MVH500AH. Not sure why you didn't say a word about it... It's the smaller brother of the notorious 502AH and although it has less control on the drag system, it's really fantastic for the price. You won't find better deal. The size is perfect (unlike the bulky 502), feels solid and the portability made it the perfect choice for me. I guess not only me as a lot of b-roll here was dedicated to it :D :D

Maybe i dont have to research anymore. Going to buy mvh500ah tomorrow :).

@@veliharri Doing research is always necessary, but sometimes it takes quite a lot of precious time. You can share your opinion afterwards. It was good for me but that doesn't necessarily mean it will suit everyone's needs ;)

What tripod base do you recommend to go with the 500AH? Thanks in advance!
@ivogelov
@ivogelov Жыл бұрын
@@sueengelmann6937 I have both "Manfrotto 055" and also "Manfrotto 290 light" (which came together with a small "fluid" head called Befree. It's a nice little head but it's far from the fluidity I needed). To be honest, I mostly use the 500AH with the cheaper 290 tripod legs, just because it's smaller in size and I usually film on the move, so the lighter it is - the better. But 055 is a real beast and it's also equipped with handy function for top-down shots. I can assure you both tripods are build to last, so if you want to save some buck try to find them second hand first :) Of course there are probably numerous good choices out there, but those are only the legs I own.

Would you get this one over the gvm dx16 tripod? I plan on replacing the head with the manfrotto 502AH

3:48 -- Isn't that supposed to be spelled *"BOWL-Head" Tripod"? Because I know of actual BALL-HEAD tripods and most, if not all, of them are used primarily for photography tripods. I have yet to see an actual video tripod with a ball-head as opposed to a fluid head or a bowl-head.
