All about TSC and LAM

In this virtual event, we welcome Prof Simon Johnson from the LAM Institute to discuss ‘lymphangioleiomyomatosis’ (or ‘LAM’), a complication in the lungs that some people with TSC can have.
LAM is much more common in women living with TSC compared to men, with around 3 in every 10 women living with TSC also developing LAM. It’s believed that the hormone oestrogen, which is found in greater amounts in women than men, plays a part in how LAM develops.

Professor Simon Johnson is the National LAM Institute Lead, as well as being Head of Respiratory Medicine at Nottingham University.
