I would like to see a story about human weapons. Actual guns and bullets weapons, not paintball.

Or perhaps paintball rounds that have special targeting ingredients mixed in the paint, perhaps radioactive, that can be sensed by an inbound weapon and act as a targeting agent to guide that much larger homing ordinance to their position and thus the target. Kinda like marking a target with a laser for incoming smart bombs only with special compounds in a paintball instead of lasers.
