Bangladesh separation from Pakistan was for a good reason as fellow Muslims they didnt look after East Pakistan. During the war the Pakistani soldiers raped and Bangladeshi women and pillaged the countries wealth. The older generation of Bangladeshi people will know this as the younger generation have hardly no idea what happened. it is well documented. It's sad really and there has never been no unity within Muslim nations as they have forgotten their teachings of the Prophet PBUH. Obviously India helped Bangladesh to divide two Muslim countries and the Muslims didn't even see it that they were being played.

It’s absolutely not true that Bengalis in Bangladesh predominantly eat fish that’s just a stereotype maybe West Bengal as they eat more vegetables and fish not that much meat but as Bangladesh is mostly a Muslim country the food has so much variety from meat, chicken, seafood, vegetables and desserts. There are a mixture of traditional Bengali cuisine along with Mughal and oriental cuisine due to history and how diverse Bangladesh is. There was no such thing as East Packistan, it’s always been Bengal, the term East Packistan and Urdu was forced upon the people of East Bengal hence why the Bengalis fought for their nation and won in 1971. Now Bangladesh economy, currency, GDP, social indicators, foreign reserves, international trade and exports are far better than that of Packistan considering they had a 20/30 year head start whereas Bangladesh had to rebuild itself after the war of 1971 so not bad from Bangladesh. 🇧🇩

@Solid Snake, Bengalis and Sylhetis are probably the only people on earth who have a mini buffet every day for lunch and dinner. That includes fish curry, meat and/ or chicken curry, vegetable and lentil side dishes. Visit any random Bengali/ Sylheti house without pre-warning them and this is what you will find. Every. Single. Day. Unlike the rest of you with your one dish of say, chickpea curry and roti for lunch and dinner and that's it for that day.

I get what you mean by East Pakistan. But politically speaking, Bangladesh was East Pakistan though when they separated from India before another war broke out and the name of the country changed to Bangladesh.

@easterneye I agree the notion of East Pakistan was forced upon the people of Bengal who were men, women and children were given no rights and access to education, work, aspirations, finance and material resources taken back to build west Pakistan and the list goes on, there are many international historians, intellectuals who could tell you about the plights of the Bengalis during west Pakistan’s rule which was very racist and dictatorial but unfortunately some Bengali youths are completely oblivious to it or are plain ignorant of the facts. I fully agree with you.
