I’ve been training for 10 years and the meta is just different now. When I started training, the only leg locks I worried about were straight ankle and toe holds and knee bars, and body lock passing was not used often. It’s good to see what competitors today are using, I wish I had the time now that I used to have to obsess over it and train 6X a week.

What's something interesting, traumatic that stuck with you: *Vietnam war music stars playing* flashbacks of Gordon forcing him to make out with Nat rapidly revolving before Nicky's eyes. Nicky: (dead-eyes stare) Weeeell. I guess, it's a collection of memories.

Talking about he skipping blue belt made me think. What if we had a ELO rating system in grappling like the one used in chess. Rankings would be mobile (as in reality) and the ability to teach should go for the ones proven theory and practice in a objective way.

@@rato_gordo plenty of good competitors are horrible at teaching, and John Danaher would have a terrible rating, even though he's successfully taught many of the best in the world. So... seems like a silly assumption to have.

9:53 from here you've also got an arm-bar entry by throwing your (left in the video) leg over your opponent's tight waist arm, Fabricio Andrey style, and ending up with your opponent's hand under your armpit, for the finish.

dont you need to slide your hip in so their hip is on top of your hip so the sweep is easier? because i tried doing sumi gaeshi from afar like nicky did, its really heavy i have to use my quads to lift them. Or am i missing something?
