You can really tell that the elders were made before the adults due to just how different the adult design is when compared to the elder design. When I look at the adult and elder designs side by side for some of them, it looks like something bad happened to them between the adult and elder stage of their life. For example: Syncopite looks like he lost all his gold (both teeth and necklace) and his head became so big, he somewhat struggles to keep standing due to the rocks hitting his head messing with his balance. Barnacle looks to have lost all his treasure, his octopus friend on his shoulder and replaced his peg leg with a normal-looking leg made of wood. Torrt looks like he is a washed up has been due to him missing most of his adult colors and the colors he did still have, looks to have gotten very dull in hue. Loodvigg looks straight up traumatised with that blank stare of his. He even lost the gold feather/fur on his wrists and his hands became pure red. He even lost the beard he was growing as a adult. What happened to loodvigg to look like this? Because there is no way he grow up to look like that naturally. Glaishur looks to have changed the most emotionally out of all of them. When he was young, he looked so happy and active. As a adult, he looked determined and focused to the point he doesn't move as much as he did when he was young. As a elder, not only does he look and sound sad, he barely move at all anymore.

I feel like the reason for this is because they wanted to be much more creative with these adult stages which caused them to develop more of a "teen phase" aesthetic for these adult forms, for example adult vhamp has a beanie and glasses, essentially dressing it up as a hipster, and these changes in demeanor are recontextualized in a sense that time is resetting, that the reawakened celestials have 'lost their wisdom' because the slower song we hear in dawn of fire compared to celestial island very much does bring the sense of an older, more grand song, like you are in the presence of gods.
