The point about training with your mind instead of your body if you aren’t feeling 100% is something I never really thought about. You can still make progress even though you aren’t physically training.

Found your channel recently and I'm in a very similar boat except I don't go to competitions. Software dev feeling burnt out, training Kung Fu/wushu for 5 years now, want to go to China to train. 😅 I appreciate all your insights and the interviews! I'm getting killed by Nan Quan and I really need to work on basics and get my training volume back up to pre-pandemic levels.

What!!! So crazy!!! How are we not friends?? What's your name? Are you on Instagram? Thanks so much for the comment!! Yes! Can't wait to go to China... Hope you get to train to your hearts content someday 💪💪💪

I really agree with the mentality and spiritual aspects of her mindset in training, and loved the 3 part interview! I am currently self-learning at home by watching videos of pros because there isn't any wushu schools in my state. I started training less than a year ago after years of soccer, weight training and calisthenics but find wushu much more fulfilling. The only experience I have is a community-ed class I took when I was 8 but it is enlightening to listen to podcasts like these because there just isn't much content like this out on the web.🙌

Yeah it's true, it's really hard to find good Wushu content out there. Best of luck to you!!

Yes! Training the braining! I feel like I do this more than most just based on how often I'm not physically able to train. lol. And I'm definitely feeling more validated about how much I'm just focusing on my basics during the first several months of wushu52. Thanks so much for posting up the interview! I'd love to hear about your thoughts on what she said and how you will apply them to your own training. Maybe a follow up video where you share how it impacted your training approach? Plus ... head to toe????? Results???? HellloooOOOOooooo? ;-) lol jk

So glad you liked it! Yeah that might actually be interesting to do some reflection on her insights... Putting it on the list!! Honestly my main thought is that I really really need to get myself to China haha, it's so hard to get the training volume that she's describing from here. Haha and head to toe video is on the way as well! Thanks for asking! Editing together clips from 30 days is proving much harder than a single day's, hahaha but then again, I think I say this about every new video format I try: "ah this is the hardest one, I should plan better for this next time..." 😂
