I WOULD ALWAYS WATCH THE SHOW... MY MOM AND DAD WOULD HAVE TO FORCE ME TO PLAY THE GAMES, but EVERY TIME I WOULD GO UP THERE I WOULD ALWAYS WATCH THE SHOW and JUST FOLLOW CHUCKE AROUND) ONE TIME, WE HAD WENT TO Chuckecheese’s (just me and my mom... she says she was pregnant with my little sister at the time) but WE WENT UP THERE FOR LUNCH AND ORDERED A LARGE CHEESE PIZZA (AT THAT TIME I SAT WATCHING THE SHOW and EATING) THEN AFTER WE HAD FINISHED EVERYTHING, MY MOM SAID SHE WAS GONNA GO TO SLEEP BUT I COULD DO WHATEVER I WANT (AND THAT IF I NEEDED HER... SHE’D BE RIGHT WHERE WE WERE SITTING) SO AFTER THAT I WENT UP AND I STOOD RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF CHUCK... long story short... (and EVERY TIME my mom tells this story, I get choked up and cry sometimes... DOGGONE IT, I’M CRYIN RIGHT NOW AS I’M TYPIN THIS COMMENT 😭😭 😭😭 I CAN BARELY SEE MY SCREEN 🤦🏽‍♂️) but anyways, she said I watched the show a TOTAL of 5 HOURS THAT DAY (THROUGH EVERY BREAK EVEN WHEN THE CURTAINS WOULD CLOSE... well... EXCEPT Chuck’s, HIS curtains NEVER CLOSED that day... WHICH WAS PROBABLY A GOOD THING, cause the curtains usually FREAKED ME OUT ANYWAY lol, but through EVERY BREAK, EVERY CURTAIN CLOSING, and if your a BIG CEC FAN... LIKE ME or if you’ve been to CEC... like ME 😅, or if you’ve got kids and you’ve been to CEC... YOU KNOW, THAT THE CHARACTERS SEEM TO DO THE SAME SONGS EVERY HOUR... THEY HAVE EM’ ON REPEAT, but EVEN DURING THOSE REPEATED SONGS... EVERY HOUR... FOR A TOTAL OF FIVE HOURS in my case, I STOOD THERE AND WATCHED THE SHOW T.H.E. W.H.O.L.E. T.I.M.E. AND THEN CRIED WHEN WE HAD TO LEAVE, BECAUSE I NEVER WANTED TO GO, AND I NEVER HAD SEEN CHUCKE THAT DAY EITHER... cause that’s before he would come out every hour on the 30, but BACK THEN that’s when he still just came out for birthdays) SO I CAME UP WITH THOSE ROBOTS... and CAME UP WITH THAT LOCATION... PERIOD, MY VERY FIRST TIME AT Chuckecheese’s was for one of my big brothers’ birthday parties, and then the second time was... that time I mentioned when I watched the show for FIVE HOURS STRAIGHT lol, and I EVEN HAD MY 9th birthday party there MYSELF (but I was just INTRIGUED... AND FOREVER FIXATED ON THE SHOW... AND STILL TO THIS DAY I KINDA WONDER WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE ANIMATRONICS 🤦🏽‍♂️)!!! Now for the LONGEST TIME, I had ALWAYS WANTED TO WORK THERE... SPECIFICALLY as the MASCOT “CHUCKE” (and I had taken MUCH INSPIRATION FROM Matteson’s VERY OWN... Aronzo Traylor ll alongside his brother Austin Traylor TOGETHER AS: “CEC BABIES”, I EVEN GOT THE OPPORTUNITY TO TELL Aronzo HOW I FELT ABOUT HIM, HOW INSPIRING and WHAT MUCH OF AN INSPIRATION HE IS TO ME, HOW I LOOKED AT HIM AS A ROLE MODEL, AND THAT WHEN I GREW UP I WANTED TO BE JUST LIKE HIM ONEDAY... he was FLATTERED and VERY APPRECIATIVE btw 😅... matter of fact, he’s the ENTIRE REASON WHY I WAS THE MASCOT ALL FOUR YEARS DURING HIGH SCHOOL and CONTINUING) but anyways, I had applied at the Matteson, IL location 3 DIFFERENT TIMES (WOUND UP GETTING THE INTERVIEW THE THIRD TIME I APPLIED... EVER) THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK BETWEEN THE TIME WE HAD THE INTERVIEW and that FOLLOWING WEEK OR SO, but then THAT WEEK HAD PASSED AND IT HAD WENT INTO THAT NEXT MONTH, THEN I WENT UP THERE THAT NEXT MONTH... ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THEY HAD GIVEN SOMEBODY ELSE THE POSITION I HAD ALREADY APPLIED FOR!! NEEDLESS TO SAY... I WAS DEPRESSED FOR A WHOLE TWO MONTHS, ENDED UP APPLYING AT Odyssey Fun World... THREE... FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES (FAST FORWARD... SOMETIME MID DECEMBER (SOME THINGS WENT DOWN DURING THAT TIME... and that’s A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY for a DIFFERENT DAY lol) but then I thought that could be ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY FOR ME TO APPLY AT Chuckecheese’s again (FOR THE FOURTH TIME) and ODDLY ENOUGH, JUST BEFORE THIS NATIONWIDE (FUNKY ASS) PANDEMIC GOT AS BAD AS IT’S GOTTEN... or WORSE (should I say) AS IT’S GOTTEN NOW, I SAT DOWN WITH ONE OF MY TEACHERS AT SCHOOL AND APPLIED (YET ANOTHER TIME) SENT IN THE ONLINE APPLICATION... SAW IT GO THROUGH... GOT AN EMAIL NOTIFICATION SAYING THAT IT WENT THROUGH, and then TWO WEEKS (TWO... WEEKS) AFTER I SUBMITTED THAT APPLICATION... WE WOULD ALWAYS GO TO Chuckecheese’s AND THAT Matteson, IL location (off of Lincoln Highway) IS THE LOCATION WE USUALLY ALWAYS WENT TO!! 😭😭😭😭😭 Matteson will FOREVER (ALWAYS BE MISSED), HAVE A HUGE IMPACT ON MY LIFE, AND BE A VERY SPECIAL PART OF ME!!!! However, I’m glad my other local CEC (Tinley Park, IL) isn’t closed and I’m GLAD THE (Huntsville, AL) location isn’t closed EITHER!!! Cause Tinley Park is the next location I plan to apply at (now... for the time being), and then the Huntsville, AL location is going to be my FUTURE (HOME) Chuckecheese’s since me and my family plan on moving down there after my little sister graduates high school (she’s going into her sophomore year though 😄) so that’ll be in the next two... three years or so. Union is permanently closed, that store housed a 16M Studio C Beta and was phase 4. They formerly had a 2 Stage and today is actually the store’s birthday!
