A lot of magic comes out of Darren's basement studio. This song is IMO better than the original, with a crisper brighter sound. I LOVE Michael's percussion and can't wait to hear more of it in future songs!! 🙏

This deserves so many more views but I guess it's because a lot of people don't know the song. Not only are Mel's vocals off the charts, the musicianship is just so authentic. There's parody and then there's homage, and this is definitely homage to a great 80s track and one of the best female vocalists from that era. There's no accounting for taste or views, but as far as SingitLive is concerned, this is right up there in my top ten. That mix, those instruments - keys, bass, drums - absolutely bang on the money!

Absolutely fucking dynamite. That's some tune to take on. Perfect from vocal to rhythm section and all in between. Chord arrangement at the end was class. Vocal harmonies were perfect. Bassists run in the outro was lovely. wonderful musicianship and special shout out to your vocalist who took on an Alison Moyet song and did an excellent job... Bravo to all

Great complete performance IMO guys - Melissa is a very true singer in both pitch and intention , she's ali class and the harmonies were sensational. The rhythm section was beautifully restrained and the familial link nailed the percussion. Also love that Ibanez bass Damien (sits really well between a Musician and Fender sound) with super playing. A really classy mix Darren ; perhaps Melissa could have had a light, tone/volume massage when she first comes in - it's a. little buried for mine but overall a big open sound which transcends the actual room size and that's not easy to do. My first electric guitar was a Strat', of F., maybe done in some Asian country. The second was another one, probably from Los Angeles. The third was almost another, a MM from Leo Fender, lighter than the Strat', very powerful with its two humbuckers. Recently, I saw your LP Custom, of a light color, beautiful. I think the Strat looks really good on you. The Stratman... J.B. told in an interview, "It is not so easy to play. One can't do as many little quirks with it, but it has this inner brutality that I like very much"

"ALF" was a staple album of my teenage years. Alison did some fantastic tracks. Mel absolutely nails this, with her own twist. So powerful a voice. I thought the boys (especially Darren) suddenly had their trousers tightened when they started singing! Eye popping! Lovely couple of Father / Son shots. I noticed this song came out in 1984 and had never heard it. I was listening to the radio a lot in the 80s and as I guessed,I found out it was mostly a hit in the UK. Sounds like a good tune though, and the lead singer is very good!
