Thank you so much for caring about wasting water. We all have to deal with especially challenging situations once in a while. But I am so happy to see you be mindful about it. This is so important for the future of our country and the world. I have watched you throughout the moving and admired how you have done it with thoughtfulness and grace and kept on top of things with two small children. I wish there was KZbin and inspirational people like you back when I was a young mom.

We have friends that are a family of 9, so they just put their clean dishes in the dishwasher (theirs is broke too) once they’re clean at night to dry and put away in the morning. We’re a family of four so I just do dishes by hand after each meal since we don’t have a dishwasher. I love how you’ve made the rental like a home...still looks cozy🥰💕

Our home had no dishwasher when we moved in, and no place to install one in our tiny galley kitchen. So we did dishes by hand for quite a while, I learned some tips along the way. Dollar tree has dishpans, you can put the cutlery and smaller things in it to wash when the sink is full. You can also fill a spray bottle with dish soap and water, and spray dishes with that. I will pile largr pots and pans on the floor while I'm washing, then mop the floor at the end.
@jendyson67295 жыл бұрын
I have been keeping house for 35 years and have tried EVERY mop I think and that spin mop is my favorite :) I like it much more than the spray mops. I have wood floors that shouldn't be too wet and this mop is great for that. I hope you get the dishwasher sorted out, if cleaning it doesn't work I would contact your landlord since it is a feature you are paying for in your monthly rent. Mine only works well (hard water I guess) if I use the most expensive dishwasher tablets, can't use the generic stuff. Also make sure the water that goes into it is very hot by running the tap at the sink for a moment so it isn't filling with cold water. The new place looks very nice, hope you are having fun house hunting !

Hey Hannah! Tip with hand washing dishes. My husbands family only hand wash dishes. They would wash the dishes and put them in the dishwasher to dry then put them away later. Helps when you have small amount of counter space:)

I loved the video today, so inspirational. I hate when the dishwasher doesn’t work well. I don’t know if you’ve experienced this before but from my experience it’s a good idea to clean the dishwasher a couple of times a week. When I had it happen to me and wasn’t using the dishwasher it got a funky smell.

I needed this video! I have 3 toddlers and we have been living in our new place for a lil over a year now and this place don’t have a dishwasher it’s so hard sometimes I feel like all I get done is dishes! Now I’m gonna get busy finishing my cleaning!😊

When I had a dish washer that didn’t work well I would hand was too, but use my dishwasher as a dish drainer for the clean ones- it at least helped with counter space

Apartment dishwashers can be the worst. We are in a townhome also while we house hunt and we switched over to Lemi Shine products for our dishwasher and it finally cleans our dishes. Although you can use any dishwasher tabs we have found that using the Lemi shine dishwasher booster and the lemi shine dishwasher rinse really made a difference so we also use the lemi shine dishwasher tablets also. But if you try it just make sure above all else you add the Lemi Shine booster to each dishwash load. That's the product that really made the difference for us anyway. We were told by a guy at the hardware store that sometimes different products in different appliances can really make the difference and at least in our instance he was right. I really enjoy your videos. Can't wait to try some of those Zep products!

Another idea to help with dishes......since you don’t have a lot of counter space, maybe use the inside of the clean dishwasher to put the dishes you’ve just washed to drip dry then either towel dry or let them completely air dry. My dad handwashes but puts the dishes in the dishwasher to dry out. It also makes it so he doesn’t have to keep a drying rack or mat on the counter.

WIth certain dishwashers you have to use a specific kind of detergent. Maybe try looking up that particular dishwasher and see what kind they recommend. You can also purchase a dishwasher cleaner that is suppose to clean out anything blocking the water coming out or try watching a youtube video on how to take apart the part that spins and see if you can clean it out. Sometimes stuff gets in the bottom and blocks it. I feel you girl, I haven't had a dishwasher in three years. It is a struggle.

Hannah, I love that grout cleaner and always have it on hand. However, DO NOT let it near your baseboards. It will warp them. I put some of the cleaner in a bowl and use a grout brush to dip in to the cleaner and then scrub a small section and wipe it up right away. Then once I am done I mop it al up. It works BEAUTIFULLY, just be careful.

I open up my dish washer and use it for a drying rack. Once I’m done washing the dishes I’ll check to see if there’s a bunch of water sitting on the dishwasher door and if so i slide the racks back in and shut the door while I wipe off the counters so the water can drain from off the door then I open it back up and let the dishes finish drying and move on to the next chore.

Isn't it amazing that your smaller rental home still takes all day to clean? I guess there is still a kitchen, bathroom, living room and so on. Sometimes, too, a smaller space makes keeping up more difficult because everything is more obvious. I have very hard water where I live. I use citric acid in my dishwasher to help with scale build up. You can also try taking apart the bottom of your dishwasher and clean it. Just Google you brand of dishwasher to find instructions. Mine comes apart easily. You can try a product calked Lemi-shine too.
@1121annika5 жыл бұрын
Definitely try the tips people have given. Ours was the same and it was just dirty inside from build up. If that doesn’t fix it, let your landlord know. It’s their responsibility to fix anything that breaks and you don’t want to be blamed for “breaking” it when you leave.
