@@LibertyRapsher everything on season 2 seem more compelling, the story gets more deep and intense, and the cinematography bro just got more tie, and those sweet zooms and outs where top Notch...felt more like a movie every episode with the exception of some grain areas and lightning, I just think the performances were awsome and distinguishable, every victim on Dexter's table seem to have a purpose juxtaposed towards his problems, little Chino representing his unability to kill again, the salesman representing his flaw intent to be a better liar, the showdown with doakes was on point, and I like Lundy's character and lyla( towards the end was a bitch) ....hard to match so many consistency with other season's

I think it would've been better to rearrange seasons to put season 2 as season 4. Imagine Doakes in the seasons with with Miguel Prado and the Trinity killer. Plus with Rita out of the picture Lila may make more sense for Dexter.

Ray Stevenson made season 7 my #1. He is such a fine actor. Julia Stiles made season 5 my #2. She was stunning as a tortured soul and stunning as a soul redeemed by justice. Plus she is simply a gorgeous woman.

That was a very surprising Ranking.Pleasantly surprising that someone cherishes Season 7 as much as I do.And that is really mostly due to the character of Isaak Sirko.A character that can be charming,menacing,dangerous,entertaining,when he wants to vulnerable but also someone with a lot of heart and someone who stands by his word.And that scene in the Gay Bar is Hands down the best scene in the show,also from a character view.And when he tells Dexter that he took the one thing away from him than money and power can’t bring back,that Dexter killed the only person who Isaak loved and didn’t had pretend with,is really heartbreaking.And it makes the viewer really understand why Isaak is doing this.He teaches Dexter the value of having someone in your life where you just can be you with.And yeah in a different life they could have been really great friends,due to their similarities.Who knows maybe even as a couple. And i couldn’t agree more that season 8 is the worst.They screwed everything up that they built in the Seven Seasons Before.And that is because the show runners peed their pants,by the the idea of letting Dexter have a Happy Ending.For all what he went through a happy ending for him and also for Debra (no,not as a couple) would have be deserved.But no “The bad guy/Anti Hero can’t get away with a Happy Ending ....Same with Walther White,Tony Soprano And others.....Since that is so outrageous. Some guys get the Presidency but Dex can’t get a Happy End.That is so frickin’ hypocritical.

szn 2 - the best szn, showed dexter in his most exposed moments leaving him to use everything in his way to defend himself from getting caught as the bay harbor butcher. could have been the last season tbh. szn1 - showed dexter in his strongest moments which were the moments when he didnt know his past. he gradually became less efficient towards the series but this season was his strongest mentally. szn 4 - family man dexter learning to balance his life as a serial killer and a father and husband. really good enemy with john lithgow his performance was amazing and this was the last truly good szn szn 7 - really highligjted how self serving dexter really is now that he is known for what he is by his sister. shows the selfishness with his character and has a good dynamic with sister as luitenet of homicide with her brother as a killer. szn 3- was a very calm season compared to season 2 and had dexter be tested with a new friend, miguel prado. every lesson he learned in this season he brought with him seeing as this is the only season where he has a best friend. very good ending too with the marriage. szn 5- underrated season but still i can see why it is disliked. dexter has to deal with his wifes death and become a full time father/killer with a new love interest. szn 6- debatably the worst season but still better than 8. i like it better because its the last season where debra has no clue what her brother rlly was. didnt like the villians of the season but the end to it was amazing. szn 8- the szn cover with plastic wrap over dexter. things were goin good untill hannah mckay came back then things started getting rlly fucked up with dexter trying to balance multiple lives. ending was terrible dont @ me worst ending ever.

I’ll be honest not the ranking I expected but a good one none the less. My personal ranking is Season 4 - honestly PERFECT tv if you ask me and one of the best villains the show ever had in the trinity killer. It’s simply perfect. Season 1 - a banger of an opener to a series I loved and keep on loving to this day. Season 2- Douges is the reason I love this season as much as I do. He’s gold and he is missed later on within the show. Season 3 - Miguel is perfect and easily keeps this season fun and interesting in an otherwise lack luster season. Season 6 - I love the take on religion and that ending scene was the moment I’d been waiting for…. Only for season 8 to hurt me later. Season 5 - I hate it. I hate it all. Just why?! You had an amazing season to play off of and we get nothing. Season 7 - ugh! This season just hurts. That’s all. Season 8 - killed the show officially. I was begging for it to end.

I am rewatching for like the 4th time and my opinions have changed so much on how I feel about the characters, but I have always loved Brian and still wish they kept him around in any capacity..As an antagonist, a partner for Dexter or even a subconcious "ghost" to go against whatever "Harry's" advice was

I fuck with the show heavily. Probably rewatched it two or three times. I think every season is impactful and then everything fell flat in Season 8. What I hate the most is that they turned Debra into a vegetable, it's kind of dehumanizing, considering that she was the liveliest character in the show. I loved Jennifer Carpenter's performance and the raw emotion she put into Debra's character. She and Doakes were my favorite characters and maybe Isaac Sirko.

I also hated Lila! I just rewatched season 2 because I love Lundy (I wish I was the LFI on the BHB) but I had to skip all of the Lila scenes. Also I noticed that Sil, Miguel's wife, comes back at the end of the series and mentions that she had to "downsize and focus on her kids" after Miguel died, but I swear they never had kids right!?

Agree 100% with Isaak. I felt like out of seasons 5-8 he was probably the most complex character. I loved his relationship with Dexter and he has a good charm to him. Also this was one of the only times where a character was revealed to be gay and it did not feel like it was forced sjw politically correct garbage. I think he and Brother Sam were the only good aspects of the last 4 seasons. For me, my ranking is 4 > 1 > 2 > 7 > 6 > 3 > 5 > 8

I feel like season 6 is underrated, the religious stuff was interesting and it had the best cliff hanger at the end besides season 4. I also liked the old man that Dexter suffocates. The tooth fairy. He was just so bitter and it was funny.

You are SO right with season 7 it’s my favorite as well and the characterizations are Immaculate. The only real disagreement I had was that I’d switch seasons 2 and 3 because, 1 I think Miguel really loses his original motivations halfway through the season and that’s why I started disliking him, and 2 I actually enjoyed Lila (unpopular, I know) and I really thought the bay harbor butcher investigations provided a fun cat and mouse that changed the tone from season 1. Your list and reasonings were so good I even changed some of my mid season opinions lol.

Disclaimer the way I felt about some of the characters may be influenced by the fact that I'm an absolute Buffy fan and BSG fan. Ii use speach to text. Sorry if any mistakes 1. 1 was probably the best season although I pretty much like two equally Brian was one of the best if not the best villain 2. 2 I really liked Rita as a side character I wish Dexter had treated her better Doaks was one of the best main character. I think this is the season where I started to hate Maria. Also I hated Lila 3. 4 Trinity was a good villain but way too cruel for my taste I really liked his daughter as a side character probably my favorite I hated what they eventually did to Trinity's family 4. 6 this season introduced some of the best side characters Brother Sam and Angel's sister Masuka's intern. I also felt the Dexter progressed in his character Arc I think I can slip new blood into this next position excluding the last 20 minutes. I like the side characters esp. Molly. I don't include police as side characters 5. 5 I can't decide if I like 5 or 3 better both had very similar themes. I agree Dexter and Lumen should have remained platonic. Luman was an excellent side character though. So was the ex-cop who was tracking Dexter for Quinn 6. 3 it was a great season but does anyone know who the main villain was I didn't like the side characters that much from this season. Even the IA thing with Quinn almost went nowhere 7. Too many side characters in too many things going on I hated what they did to Deb Also they should have done something out of the blue like having Maria die in the line of duty just before she solved the case of Dexter.. did not like Hannah's as a side character I did like the two guys tracking Hannah 8. 8. Kind of felt like they were taking something away from Harry with this season . Not to mention the ending. Which is worst Deb dying. Dexter quitting his job run away with Hannah. Dexter becoming a lumberjack working with chainsaws. Harrison going away with Hannah on the other hand there were some good side characters such as the doctor Anyway that's just my thoughts I wonder if anybody else has done a favorite side character or favorite main character list I know people have done the favorite villain list

My Rankings: Worst to First Season 8 - Hannah, the ending and Deb's story were disappointments Season 5 - It wasn't bad, but it was a HUGE letdown after the amazing season 4. Season 7 - I am watching through it again and I this is one of the most polarizing seasons. People either love it or hate it Season 6 - This season seems to get the most unwarranted hate IMHO. I think it's ending was amazing and the story was a good story and brought the series back after the drab season 5 Season 3 - This was a good season but not the best. It was one of the few seasons that ended on a high note. It's on par with S6 IMHO Season 2 - This season had us all on edge with consequences that we KNEW would change the dynamics of the Miami PD forever Season 4 - Brilliant season right in the middle of the series and I'm still not over the ending, WOW! Season 1 - it's where it all began and how we know and love (most) of these characters.

Season 8 bland villain bad ending and I absolutely hate Hannah 7. 7 if they hadn't killed Isaac then this would be way higher up also again I hate Hannah 6. 5 nothing bad or good about the season mostly in the middle 5. 3 again nothing special but I liked the fact that Miguel technically ended up being the villain of the season and I also loved his character 4. 6 the villains were cool and this also could be a little bit of bias because of my predictions but overall it was a great season 3. 4 it had the best villain showed how dexter was scared for his future as a killer but the worst thing for the show overall was the fact that Rita dies and she was one of the greatest characters 2. 2 the fact that this should have been layer on in the show doesn't make it a worse season I hated lyla was starting to dislike dexter but in a way that kept my interest also dokes was a kind of important character as he was the only one who knew something was up about dexter 1.1 closely 2nd best villain overused twist but at the time it wasn't as common and great introduction.

I enjoyed Dr. Vogel and Zach Hamilton's story lines. Hannah's great too. Anything with Jamie Batista, Masuka's daughter, and all things RITA could have been left out. I understand Rita's character was needed, but she was SO annoying...first wimpy and whispery/needy, then super bossy, bitchy and demanding. I was happy when she ended! Seasons 3 and 4 were great except for bossy Rita.

And yes, that Deb in love with Dexter story line was weird - obviously the writers realized that at some point and just let that narrative die.

9. New Blood: Had such potential then they decided to undo it all by having a disrespectful unlikable jerk of a teenager kill off the legendary Bay Harbor Butcher. On top of that, how are you gonna tell me that Angela found out who Dexter was but not Special Agent Lundy of the FBI with much more experience and knowledge than a small town cop. I also wanted more about Dexter but it was like 20% Dexter and 80% Harrison. Podcaster was also a very annoying character as well. Such an unsatisfying and cheap ending. Also appreciate them trying something new with the location but I liked Miami better. And how would they bring Bautista in but never have an interaction with Dexter? And all the plot convenience. Just a mess. 8. Season 8 7. Season 6 6. Season 5 5. Season 3 Below this point are hard to rank, they constantly change spots 4. Season 4: Trinity killer is great! It was nice for Lundy to make a return as well. Not a huge fan of family man Dexter, but it was still enjoyable. I have a love hate with the finale as I had a love hate with Rita. Also wish Dexter would’ve killed Trinity sooner. I also liked Trinity’s family. 3. Season 1: Had probably the best beginning of any season and possibly the best finale as well. Loved learning lots of Dexter’s past and what a great twist Brian was. Since it’s the first season and oldest, some of the early 2000’s humor and style is a little cringey and didn’t age that well. Also some of the characters just weren’t developed super well. Brian should’ve been spared for a later season but I also love how he was the start of it all. Middle of the season was a little spotty but overall, great season. 2. Season 2: Doakes’ and Lundy’s performances in this season were 10/10. Didn’t care for Lila all that much unfortunately but she still had decent moments. Doakes should’ve been saved for later seasons, he had a mountain of potential. 1. Season 7: Love Isaak Sirko and I love Dexter being hunted by Laguerta and just more on Dexter’s past with Hector Estrada. My anxiety was through the roof with Laguerta on his case. Also liked Louis and Dexter’s rivalry as well. Hannah was a cool concept of a character, just wish she was written a little better.

I think it mainly came down to the actor and his performance, though I agree he's not particularly complex and not really worthy of the "final villain". For my villain rankings I may just make a separate video for that since there's a lot of information to unpack (and I need to figure out whether Brian or Trinity is #1).
