the commentators said.. the umpire thought that the guy returning serve had moved before the serve was struck, and the umpire faulted the guy returning serve. But looking in slow mo, the commentators and viewers can see that the umpire was wrong.

Fu made good smashes, but overall their defence wasn't great in this match. Their defence actually improved dramatically after 2010

You are exactly right! Because during their younger years, the main strategy was offense; however, as they age, the footwork become slower, so they have to rely on defense, just in case they cannot follow up.
