@@Call_Me_Rio all of it, you don’t understand the satire he uses In his lyricism to deconstruct white supremacist hierarchy’s and how that effects him as a black man who hasn’t traditionally aligned himself with traditional black culture, maybe you aren’t old enough or understand the politics and message in his lyrics, often being funny, witty, or even heart breaking. I suggest you listen to Communist Slow Jams to get a full frame of this then listen to an album like All my Heroes are Cornballs to get a grasp on why his production is next level.

@@Call_Me_Rio his lyrics may not seem deep on the surface and in many songs they come across as your typical peggy aggression, but his emotion, insane production, and disrespect for traditional music boundaries tends to capture specific emotions and ideas in a really off-putting and uncomfortable manner. he's here to be subversive, and that's pretty impressive in hip hop. his message isn't really only in the lyrics, but his production and composition put you in an uncomfortable position where you have to pay attention and try to empathize with whats being presented, which takes immense skill in my opinion

He can give chill R&B ish like shit from his EP2 ep with songs like fix urself His delivery anda one liners are comedic yet clever n hard asf man oozes charisma with such ease Make ugly shit sound good with songs like real nega garbage pale kids etc 1539 n calvert his #1 essential along with hazard duty pay

Assuming that Veteran has been upgraded to 9, JPEG averages a strong 8 across four albums. Just to compare Deathgrips and Kendrick both averaged a decent 8 across 8 and 6 albums respectively. I’m assuming JPEG has the highest average across Fantano ratings of artists with more then one album (no Kids See Ghosts).

You can find the bandcamp version which most people consider the full version, or you can find the directors cut version on youtube. I would recommend copying the link of the directors cut version and converting it to an mp3 file so you can listen to it without ad interruptions or spotty service.

​@@Austyn59913 And I agree 100% with you that the rest of Veteran is insane regardless of how one feels about 'Dayum' (I personally like it even you can't really call it a song). Same goes for my opinions on 'Sorrel'.... What I would say is that while Veteran and Cornballs are nearly flawless, and from a technical standpoint arguably better than Communist Slow Jams, the messaging on CSJ is so powerful that there really is no comparison (especially the full director's cut). The way Jpegmafia speaks on issues related to poverty, police brutality, racism, cultural appropriation, corruption, america, depression, etc... it's eerie how relevant his observations in 2015 perfectly encompass our times right now. Also you can feel the hardships he was going through at that point in time in his delivery. He sounds so raw and hungry while telling his story, and yet there is this prevailing hint of apathy mixed with drug use type of delivery plaguing his voice.....it's a lurking reminder of the constant weight and pressure on Jpegmafia's back, being a highly creative and talented person who needed to be in survival mode everyday just to make it. I could go on forever about that album, but you should just listen to it haha

I guess that 8.0 is a decent 8 and 9.0 is a decent 9 and 8.5 is directly in between. In this scale system, a 8.8 for example would be a light/decent 9 because it's closer to a 9 than to an 8. I also use such a scale.
