Fedor Vladimirovich Emelianenko (Russian: Фёдор Влади́мирович Емелья́ненко, tr. Fyodor Vladimirovich Yemelyanenko, IPA: [ˈfʲɵdər vlɐˈdʲimʲɪrəvʲɪtɕ jɪmʲɪˈlʲjænʲɪnkə];[11] born 28 September 1976) is a Russian heavyweight mixed martial artist (MMA), sambist, and judoka, currently[inconsistent] competing for Rizin Fighting Federation and Bellator MMA. He has won championships and accolades in multiple sports, most notably in MMA Pride Fighting Championships (heavyweight champion 2003-2007), FIAS World Combat Sambo Championship (Heavyweight Champion 2002, 2005, 2007), and Russian Judo Federation National Championship (Bronze medal 1998, 1999).

A lot of younger mma fans don't really understand how great Fedor is, and was. Even if they watch highlights, they might just see a great brawler, but Fedor was anything but a brawler. He only unleashed looping combinations when he saw his opponent completely shell up, and play defense,, but when his opponent would be on the offensive, Fedor was excellent at controlling distance, and circling away from punches, and rolling with big shots when they connected. Fedor was Jon Jones before Jon Jones, and I know for a fact that a prime Fedor would have given any version of Jon Jones a run for his money because of his technique, aggressiveness, speed, and strength. The main mistake a lot of fighters make against Jon Jones is that they try to methodically outstrike him, or fear to engage in the clinch with him, and they allow Bones to control the fight. That's why guys like Machida had some success against this era's GOAT, because he was aggressive, and physical without being irresponsible defensively. Fedor's intelligent pressure fighting, and willingness to attempt crazy fast, and crisp Sombo trips, and throws would surprise Jon Jones who is used to fighting tactically, and controlling the pace. There was nothing like being blitzed by Fedor. It was like a raging bull, and Jon Jones would not be able to submit Fedor either. Fedor technically went 30 straight fights without being defeated to start his career, and he had a kill list of so many UFC champions, and Pride champions. It was a resume' that is very comparable to Jon Jones, if not better, and we all know how great Jon Jones UFC resume' is.

Fedor is a legend. He was *impossible to beat* until CroCop came along. Even then, Special Forces Croatian Cop didn't beat him, but he's the only one that managed to put up a fight against Fedor, lasting 30 mins when typically, Fedor would beat his opponent in under 5 - 10 mins.

That's one of my favorite fights. Despite Fedor dominating that fight against Cro Cop, Cro Cop did really well compared to everyone else in Fedor's prime. Cro Cop was somewhat new to grappling, yet you could see that Cro Cop had great instincts with his guard from bottom. Despite being overmatched in the grappling, Cro Cop held his own, and did really well. He fought like a brown belt in that fight, and had a very active guard threatening Fedor with his legs when Fedor would try to stack Cro Cop's guard. Nogueira did get the best of Cro Cop in a fight he was dominating on the feet, but Nog was one of those guys that could pull off submissions in the blink of an eye if you made one little mistake. Most guys in Nog's position during that fight would have folded. As Cro Cop's career progressed, he actually developed a very good ground game, a nice submission package, and became a black belt level BJJ fighter that was dangerous on the ground despite being a stand up striker mostly. Cro Cop was a prodigy in combat sports just like BJ Penn. He could pick up techniques very fast, and utilize them in a live setting very quickly. He had natural fighting instincts.

The reason I have Fedor as the GOAT is he has been battled tested. Jon Jones has never had his chin tested.

It should be noted that his first loss was controversial. Because it seemed Kohsaka's elbow grazed and cut open Fedor. But elbows were not allowed in Rings, so it should have been a no contest. Anyways he destroyed Kohsaka years later, Fedor was clearly the better fighter.

Besides seeing time and age catching up to Fedor (which will eventually happen to most people). Regardless if he wins or loses in his next match. He will always be the most dominant and best heavy weight MMA fighter of All time. With Micro retirement and Fedor time getting close to final retirement and so many other fighters from their era. It's sad to see what MMA is turning into. Trash talking, disrespect to fighting at promotional events and weigh in events is what fans are getting stuck with to watch. The era of being respected for being a good fighter and champion have turned into a bunch of tattooed thugs and criminals and human trash beings allowed to get into the ring, examples Michael Paige who is a good fighter but the lowest thing to give respect and one of the last to ever earned the honor of respect. Sad what has happened to MMA.

I enjoyed the video. But I must correct you on the fight with Dan Henderson.You mistakenly stated Fedor "slipped" and fell on his face! Lol 😂 which was hilarious to even hear such a claim. But it shouldn't take away from Dan's perfectly placed / timed devastating right uppercut under the shoulder that put his lights out immediately! Dan has one of the most powerful right hands EVER! it's literally nicknamed the "H" BOMB!! & The leverage on that shot combined with not seeing it coming at all would've knocked out a freaking elephant 🐘 so yeah! Just saying...
