In this episode we stop in the magical island of Dominica on our way south to Grenada. We finally make it to Grenada safe and sound just in time for our haul out date. We pack up the boat and prepare it for hurricane season on the hard at Spice Island Marine before saying our goodbyes to Gypsy Moon.

We stopped in Dominica while on a Cruise about 20 years ago. It was my favorite island out of the 7 islands we visited! Very beautful and tropical. I loved the waterfalls!

Reminds me of a great great time of my life in my 20’s. I flew for American Eagle in the Caribbean in the early 90’s based out of San Juan. Miss the gorgeous scenery and overnights. Thanks for stirring up great old memories. St. Lucia was the furthest south in the chain that we got. Always wanted to go back and sail the Caribbean some day. I recommend making a stop at Virgin Gorda. The sunsets from the harbor and west side of the island are amazing. Lots of other islands (Beef Is and St Johns) within view as the sun sets. A huge thank you for sharing!!

I went to Dominica one time. We did an emergency landing there because one of our engines flamed out. Lived on bananas, bread fruit, and coconuts for three days until the engine was repaired. Good times!

Definitely must come to Turkey, has very beautiful spots for cruisers. Nowadays situation of lira is another good reason to come and spend time cheaper with good views.. İf you need anything to know or planning, we (me and my gf) could assist. Also would like to join your adventure in your boat for a small period of time as well :)

Great video, cool channel. I lived on 37 cutter for 4 years sailing between Maine and Florida seasonally. Had to completely replace my rudder. Amazing, but never able to go abroad due to our pets...... So, the dogs have passed on now and I've bought a house in Albania for my next adventure! Wish I never sold the boat though..

if you are still in contact with the Marina - get them( or someone close by to put some sort of cover over your pedestal compass. ( you will kill it if you leave it in the sun exposed like it is)

I'd like to see the islands around Greece. I live in Waterloo, Ont. So there not alot of tropical areas here. Although we do have the beautifull great lakes. My favorite is the winery in Grand bend.

I recommend Jordan as a travel destination: Wadi Rum, Petra, Aquaba for scuba. Beautiful desert locations and Indiana Jonesand the last crusade was filmed there in Petra.

I chartered a catamaran in Martinique and sailed to Dominica. I got sick and had to check into a hotel for the AC. THREE DAYS! ARGHHH I got better in time to sail back. I left my friends in Fort-De-France. I did not know I was not supposed to sail alone. Many negatives happened but nothing terrible. On the way back, one jackass was sailing out of the channel in the middle. I swerve and almost hit ground.

I would avoid Egypt. They aren't aren't friendly to Americans and even though you are Canadian, you are Americans to them. When I was a deckhand we went to Egypt and It was awful. But Sailing Zatara was just there and they seemed to enjoy it. So things must have changed. Also, if you dive into that seaweed, I would suggest you wear something to cover your ears. There are tiny crabs and other crustaceans that live in there and they will get in your ear. I think that happened to Riley on La Vagabonde, but I had it happen to my old captain too. He had 2 in his ears and one went up his nose. Took him about 30 minutes to get it out. He used to just wear the swim goggles but stopped doing it after that

Actually Egypt is very friendly, our friends are they currently and we have spent many weeks there. They welcome you with open arms and you will get invited for dinner with families. We would say much friendly than Canada or US.
