I love how you use contrasting colors together here, like the yellow and purple and the blue and orange. But the painting makes me so sad!

Thanks! It's kind of a challenge to work those colors together, but so satisfying when you feel a balance.

Once I saw the silhouettes of the unicorns just standing the other way I was like "welp, now I know what happened to them....idiots"

I felt the piece was meant to symbolize the continuation of species, as well as those who didn't get to carry on their genetic legacy. Almost like they're looking back and seeing that they are the last in a long line of unicorns, whereas the other animals has no concern over that. But could be disillusioned (become clear-eyed) eventually.

How are you using bristol paper without it buckling to hell? Any time I've tried this, it just immediately buckles and bubbles and all the paint/ink runs to the sides. I tried your ink technique where you lay down a bunch of water then drop the ink in and let it run around, but mine just all pooled at the sides. Any tips?

Always I recommend going slow if you're worried about unwanted bleeding of colors. And experiment! Use scrap watercolor or botched paintings to try different ratios of water/paint and effects. I wanna make a fresh video on this so let me know if you got specific Qs!

For me this video represents humanity and how messed up it is. The unicorns are the weird or different people in the world, those that don't fit the norm and the other animals is like the majority. The people that are considered "normal". The normal people shun the different ones (the animals running away) and end up hurting them (the tears on the unicorns). PS. My apologies for being weird.. I have a tendency to look too deep into things.
