Actually King Kong DID have a huge effect on cinema. His original film is regarded as a cinematic milestone and King Kong is an American icon (like how Godzilla is a Japanese icon, but both are also equal monster icons) and just look at everything that was inspired by King Kong (and obviously not all directly and such)
