Start rolling for Tirpitz, then. You're not extracting Bismarck's full value without her sister to go along with her. Also, you might be interested in running them with Graf Zeppelin since she has a passive defense buff for all IB ships. For your Vanguard comp, Bisky buffs all IB ships, so it's up to you and what you're up against whether you want a destroyer comp (Z1 Retro, Z23 Retro, Z46) or a Cruiser comp (almost all cruisers work well with Leipzig). Iron Blood ships are notoriously tanky, so capitalize on that. Outside of a few ships, you really need to go the extra mile to crank up their DPS (FDG grind, pretty much all PR ships, Strasser, and a dedicated wolfpack submarine fleet). Defense and survivability stats have few equips in the game, making Iron Blood's tankiness a sort-of premium in the game. You can't really upgrade your armor class (other than equipping a few rare event-only items), and the only real stat that you can affect with equips to make other ships as tanky would by HP and EVA. A lack of DPS could be met by having better guns, torps, aircraft, and auxiliaries.
