I have gone to the competition as an audience. It was very traditional setting and I was touched by how dedicated all the competing judokas were. It is great this short film was made and all the judo fans in the world could enjoy it.
An amazing documentary. The private clips from Saito family made me tears as a mother of little judoka. I can really resonate with Saito’s mom as well as dad who is a legendary judoka.

How wonderful this documentary is, it is truly inspiring for all of us involved in the sport of judo. I bet the All Japan championship carries a 'heavier' honor than Olympics and Worlds. I couldn't help noticing how relatively empty the tournament arena was in terms of spectators though. If you see the footage from Saito's father winning celebration you will see it was packed back then. Was it because of Covid maybe?
