His dad has a sharp sense of humor and improv skills. You can see Adam trying to outdo him with references but he rolls with it.

Yeah I've listened to thousands of hours of Adam between Loveline and podcasts...he's never credits his dad for the humor and improv

Dads say the darn-dist things ha. Watching this vid reminds me of the house my Dad built so many years ago. Wish I could be there again. I left there at the age of three, and It's been 38years but I still have every square inch of that house in my head.

I bet his dad did not even pay a penny over $39,500 for that house when he bought it.

He does seem like a nice guy, but it seems pretty clear from listening to Adam over the years that Jim wasn’t much of a dad when Adam was growing up. When Adam did the driving tour of his neighborhood when he was growing up and points out how his dad would sit in the living room reading while Adam played football in the high school stadium literally right across the street, that kinda sums it all up. I suspect that if Jim had gone to a few of his games, Adam might not be so bitter about his childhood.

Adam's contempt for his family is understandable, tragic, and heart wrenching all wrapped into one big ball of shit. Sorry Adam. I would speak up on it too with that much torture. He would be a much happier man if his parents were halfway there. But also paycheck to paycheck like most people from decent homes, all homes.

He's relentless and brutal about his folks on his radio shows. It's funny most of the time but sometimes it's more resentful than funny.

In his younger years...Jim Corolla was a Jazz musician. He went back to school to become a PHD Psychologist and started his own private practice. (I know this for a fact because I was in his therapy group for 2 years) Even tho Adam Corolla often described his dad as a miserable, apathetic deadbeat father...the truth is he loved his dad and ultimately made him a significant part of his life. Adam offered his father his own radio show, gave him over $750,000 for his childhood home, and included his dad in social gatherings with his wife, kids and friends. Adam Corolla maintained negative sarcasm about his father in order to keep his podcast ratings up, (he said so himself) but in real-life, he showed a different side of himself.

Three quarters of a million for a 1200 sq foot home that you're going to demolish. Spend another half million remodeling it and you're left with a 1200 sq ft home in N Hollyghetto with overhead power lines and a backyard pool the size of an SUV. Good Times!

II think he lived in several places, but one of them was 640 square feet or something. He and dr drew were talking about looking at the smaller house, and dr. drew would laughing about it, despite the fact the he's usually careful about appearing to be compassionate.
