Yeah, I used to own tons of the sets. Now seeing what Lego City has become, it's kinda shocking to see the downgrade. The police sets aren't as good as the 2008 to the Forest ones

The older ones (especially 2005-09) had a great balance between fun play value and a lot of realism in terms of vehicle designs and sizes (like the giant ship from 7994 or the big complex cranes from both construction lines), while the 2010-13 wasn't really as realistic as the ones before, but still great looking and funny to play with (but still much more realistic than what came after). I think the real dip in quality began around 2014-17 onwards, with simpler and more gimmick looking sets with a more childish theme if you know what I mean, and not to mention the way they mass produce new police sets every year since that time, where most of them look or feel the same, comparing to before when there was a little gap between the main series of said sets or at the end of the good era (2011-13), where they also did new sets every year, which worked back then as the sets had different themes (forest etc), and weren't produced with as many sets as the previous + the fact that you could still buy the 2011 series along the two following ones until 2014. The same can be said for most other series in the current City line as well, sadly.
