So... Am I the only one, who thinks not using Spite was a HUGE missed opportunity? To show that Spite also drawn to Rook, maybe once even taking control instead of always reserved Lucanis? And Lucanis bashfully realizing that Spite just acted on *both* their desires. And then eventually them bonding together because both of them like to be with Rook, bonding over love and not death. Come ooooon! That would've been so beautiful.

I'm surprised by Lucanis. I assumed he would be a cocky asshole, like a worse Zevran, but he's really sweet. Especially when he asks Rook to keep talking because their voice was comforting. Even the romance is slow and sweet. As much as I'd love more romantic moments and making out, the subtlety shows just how tender he is. I'm in love lol

Remember this, when you get sad that Lucanis’ romance feels empty, short, and incomplete. Bioware axed his writer, Mary Kirby in like the middle of production. Remember what they took from us. Bioware is a spinning door for their legacy writers, producers, etc.

There’s also a few lines from the battle with Illario, he says Rook chose the wrong dellamorte. Then if he hits them during battle, Lucanis says “he’ll kill him for that”. We love a protective partner uwu

I really wished for 4 changes in his romance arc cause i loved him so much, but it was missing something i think these 4 things would be fine additions without scrapping what was already there. 1 - When i learned we were romancing an abomination, i wanted a possession scene where spite got violent with us, cause there should be more consequences to not dealing with the demon in the room than the sleepwalking thing for me, and the two of them overcoming that together could be very romantic, maybe in the second sleepwalking scene he give us just a little scare and lucanis came back before spite hurt you that get the blood pumping 2 - The part where your in his mind, we should have had a "Rook" projection if we are romancing him, one where "how could we love him" and just a converstion with ourself about why we shouldnt be with him. And saying that your not afraid to love him directly to his insecurities. That would have hit so hard! 3 - I feel the conversation after dealing with illario should have had a kiss scene, just imagine it. Your asking if he's gonna leave the team to be first talon, you say the "id hate to lose you "dialogue and he puts down his coffee and walks up and kisses you and while he's holding you in his arms after the kiss, "i could never leave this place, not with you here. You'll have me as long as i can put off the crows" then foreheads touch "sighs, Fucking Illario" and the conversation continues as you part. Like it be so much in just that change! You dont even have to change the voice lines! Lol 4 - the coffee scene with spite, when he walks over to your side of the table, just...just brush my cheek please, rather than just staring at eachother standing there i just need one jesture of preciousness, a hand or finger brushing against the cheek would be the perfect touch I feel these 4 changes could go a long way while still keeping it a slow burn with a "bisexual disaster"

That’s the thing tho, if they wanted to make him a disaster, why didn’t they make him a disaster? The worst they made him was closed off. The man is by no means a disaster. Being closed off due to family issue is very normal in close knit families. My issue is they didn’t explore the implications of his generational trauma and show the effect Caterina had on him. His story had soooo much potential.

@@peachteagaming Agreed, the banter between him and harding or Davrin addresses the worst case scenario of the demon but that's it, the sleep walking thing should have been replaced with Spite lashing out, I know that Spites only goal was to get out of the ossuary and that's what the sleepwalking was meant to represent but him lashing out cause he's being kept in the mind prison of the ossuary would have still backed their idea and make us more on edge with the demon. And I would love to have seen the childhood trauma come up, like at Caterina's funeral planning, talking about his complex feeling about Caterinas death, "She's family, and she raised me but also the way she raised me. Its hard to sort these feelings. I am both grieving her lost but I'm also relieved to not have to see what she'd do after seeing me as an abomination." And this complex feeling could be readdressed in the Caterina mind prison scene, talk of isolating him until he's "better" or like Bob Ross might say, "Beat the devil out of him" lol, to show Lucanis worst case scenario with Caterina seeing him now. Wrap things up with a missive or codex entry of a letter addressing how she was tough so he'd survive unlike his parents and cousins, and maybe she doesn't regret it cause she loves how her boy turned out. It's very Caterina to take credit for her grandson's successes Haha

Thanks for the video. Lucanis is a pleasantly calm and charming gentleman for an assasin. However am i the only one who thinks that veilguards romance are pretty, mild? Ive seen the others and while i know its not an romance game, it just seems a bit flat compared to inqusition. In inqusition there is a lot more banter amongst every other party member and the love interest about the relationship. Both Amongst thenselves and the MC, Even some background npcs would banter about it. You also have a bit more meat to the confession scene, along with one or more "sneaking away and having a kiss" in inquisition. With Lucanis it didn't feel like they really entered a relationship until the end spicy scene, like they may have teased and slight flirting each other in the beginning which was good, but then it seemed to just keep going nowhere futher until the end.

@@peachteagaming I can't really say what are the real conditions of that dialogue to show up.. It happened in my pt when I romanced Lucanis and Emmrich wasn't a lich. A lich Emmrich didn't talk about love and romance in his banter with Lucanis.. maybe I just missed it that time, who knows. But I think this dialogue between them happens only when you're romancing Lucanis.

A bit down about the fact we didn’t get more content with him and some of the dialogue when flirting with him was… idk… bland..? It felt like it never got DEEP. Like emotional… for me(okay but some parts were emotional). However, the part where we confess, was lacking in that department. I was at least expecting an “I love you.” Atp. It was SO UNDERHANDED. Does anyone else agree? Lucanis’s romance definitely could’ve used more care. I don’t say that to HATE ON it, btw. I say that because I LOVE THE POTENTIAL 😭🙏🏽🌸 like please give us something more

Hi, I’m conducting a research on the different dialogue branches in game. Can you please tell me, have you had Harding die, and Bellara was blighted? To my knowledge so far, Lucanis mentions Neve in the end if she was blighted regarding of who died before. If Bellara was blighted but Davrin was killed, he mentions Davrin. If Bellara was blighted but Harding was killed, he doesn’t mention anyone at all. Just wanted to check that based on your playthrough, I don’t have enough time to replay game so many times myself haha You’re the first person to record that final bit of dialogue after the initial companion sacrifices WHILE romancing Lucanis, so this is my one time opportunity!

I think it’s because [Spoiler Warning] Taash can romance Harding during the game, so if she died romanced by her there’s more significant emotional weight to her grieving (her dialogue changes and is more grim). Maybe it’s to balance out that weight between her and Davrin? Because Davrin can’t be romanced by companions Thank you for quick response! I love both Lucanis and Emmerich, might need to do two playthroughs in the end. Glad to see Lucanis love, I saw a lot of opinions but I’m honestly a fan of his
