All Made of Sighs and Tears: An Elleston Liddell Radio Mystery

Interesting Theatre has been presenting plays on behalf of Young United Church in Winnipeg, Canada for over 30 years. Our recent projects have focused on staging the Elleston Liddell Mystery series as live radio plays where the set recreates a broadcast studio from a time before television. This approach is not possible during covid time but, as you’ll see, technology finds a way!
It’s 1908 and Winnipeg is North America’s fastest growing city. It’s a place where fortunes are made… and lost in the blink of an eye. It’s also the place that the famous Elleston Liddell, Methodist minister, best selling author and amateur sleuth calls home. With the help of his mathematician wife Pamela and good friend Inspector James O’Connell, Elleston has built a reputation for solving crimes by always being one step ahead. This time, however….
A murderer whom Pamela and her friend Phoebe Willoughby helped put in behind bars has escaped and sworn vengeance. Now Pamela has disappeared and Elleston is playing catch up. Time is short and Pamela’s life hangs in the balance.
