There is one more requirement for getting the affinity booster. The story never makes you fight black Diablos. The quest given by the 3rd fleet leader won't unlock unless you have spotted a black Diablos.

I have spot the black diablos but still cant get the quest from third fleet master since she in seliana. Please help. Edit: The third fllet master will move to its original position after completing the expedition in haortfrost reach and there will some cutscene where the commander of Astera wants to go back to Astera. After that when go to research base you will see the third fleet master is there.

@@nafienorasmadi8420After completing the story some of the NPCs move around. I have seen the 3rd fleet master in the research base a couple times when I was there. If you're still having trouble, try completing Iceborne's main story and checking the 3rd fleet research base periodically.

It sucks because I think you can bug it atm on PC. Tried to get it and did the great girros quest but the Provisioner won't give me the delivery quest .-. I just want my affinity booster...

My advice is to do all the optional quest as you get them. Not just for equipment, but so you work towards the rainbow armor pigment. Good luck to all hunters out there on their hunts.

I beat tempered Kirin yesterday for the first time, it was first try too. A guy helped me do the quest where you have to kill two Bazelguese, also showed taught me about tempered monsters. It was only me and him, we both fainted once, and then he lost connection to the game but he stayed with me on a party. He killed the Kirin too, and so did I.

Hahaha. The two tempered Bazel's were so damn easy. I can't believe how easy this game is compared to the previous titles. I had both bazel tails cut off within the first 4 minutes of the fight. By the fifth minute one had flown off after limping. 90 seconds later the other one flew off after limping. They were both dead less than 3 minutes later. So damn easy. The Kirin is not even close to as bad as everyone has been saying. High thunder resist and Thunder Mantle and he is nothing at all.

​@@zhorox For both missions I was using full Glavenus and a GS (Guild Palace I believe, not upgraded either). The game is far less about gear and far more about skill (that's why veterans love the MH series so much, you can't fake skill). I can always tell a group lacking in skill because #1: It feels like I am doing all the work and am taking far more damage than usual, as well as getting aggro'd more. #2: The mission is taking too long. I was with a group a few days ago and we beat Ode to Destruction (Event NERG) in around 4 minutes. You can't have even 1 weak link to pull that off. Everyone has to be doing their job and be very competently aggressive (we were just randoms that met up). The whole point I am making is that every player needs to develop their skill and it takes lots of time, especially if a person is new to the game or the series in general. I started back in 2004, playing the first title on PS2. In MH3U I completely beat the offline portion of the game before I ever stepped online (takes a LONG TIME). I have also done the same with WORLD. Honestly, the best way to develop skill in this game is to fight monsters solo. figure out the mechanics of them and develop strategies. A player is doing themselves a disservice by playing online straight from the beginning. Skill is what makes a great player in Monster Hunter, not having a group CARRY an unskilled player through Safi to get gear they don't deserve, etc.

Challanger mantle is good for lance if you want to draw the enemy towards your shield while your friends do DPS.

Alright guys i figured it out. If you hunted the 5 tempered monsters (either threat lvl 1,2, or 3) make sure that its a "different" kind of monster, it cant just be, for example, 5 pink rathians. After you've done this GO TO ASTERA. The lasy at Seliana wont give you the quest only the lady in astera. :)

9:47 it doesn´t just defends you against dragon damage, it makes you deal more dragon damage yourself, that´s the useful thing, you can kill monsters weak against dragon damage faster if you have a weapon that has already dragon damage and the dragonproof mantle.

yeah ive just been using the devilhjo glaive with dragon mantle and I use as soon as I get a chance to sharpen my blade and refresh kinsect buffs at once and just start eating everything

The evasion mantle is the only one I'm missing and can't get right now because I don't have any threat level 2 monster investigations. I only have elder dragons and that's neat but not what I need right now. Thanks for the info, it really helped out!

Vitality mantle is the best, I always use it when sh*t hits the fan. An example is take kulve, when she does the fire breathe on the floor you can equip the vitality mantle and boom you are safe where as temporal can't do that. Or lanustras AOE you equip the vitality mantle boom your safe. Temporal? Nope. The vitality mantle will always save you ass no matter the situation. Can't say the same about the other mantles. It's so versatile and can be used against any monster and any attack be it elemental, abnormal or physical.

I haven't tried it on the new dragons my comment is 4 years old Game has changed now but technically you should use the mantle that best suits the monster you are fighting against. There should be some monsters that negate the use of mantles altogether that would be interesting and different. If I remember... I actually only used the glider mantle + due to giving you the most deco slots available out of all the mantles can't remember if I used it against Fatalis or not but I'm pretty dang sure I used it against Alatreon Safi Jiva as well. Once you learn the moves and how to deal with their environment moves you don't even need mantles really but they do help for sure especially against Fatalis

Assassins Hood is not in this list. You get it from event SDF silent deadly and fierce. it boosts your movement speed and lets you hide easier.

For everyone that doesnt get the affinity booster delivery quests. You need to have the items at least once, or you need to have had it at some point. Else the quest wont show up

you don't have to complete Jho DLC first to get temporal, because I only did the first of the two Jho quests and don't have the dragon mantle. but I did get temporal

Deviljo threw odogaron through the arena pit-wall on my final run in the final day of the event festival marathon(only unlocked 8* two days previous). Butchered him, Killed him, carved him then heard a noise, saw a flicker of tail and dust. Blink, dust, 20 seconds passed. Blink, Dust, I placed a trap. Blink, dust, I placed a bomb. Blink, Dust, I timed some strikes. Blink, Dust, the pattern repeated. Blink, Dust, distance zero, distance 499 straight down. Blink, Dust, Ragequit. No assassin mantle for me, yet.

I think the easiest way to beat 3 tempered elder dragons and unlock A summons from below quest is to do the Special Assignment called The Thronetaker that will have you Slay a Tempered Nergigante,Tempered Lunastra,and Tempered Toastra.

It's gotta be 5 _different_ threat level 1 monsters. You can't, say, fight tempered Rathian 5 times. You have to fight 5 unique tempered threat level 1 monsters.

Dragonproof mantle increases dragon elemental damage. Also, Deviljho and Lunastra are NOT DLC. They are part of the main game through updates. Just a heads up.
