@@skotnica93 there's already a solution though not _popular_ one by Robert Heinlein. It's described in his book, starship troopers, which is very different from the film. The idea is that everyone to vote must serve in the army. You don't have to, your parents might be wealthy then you just continue their line of business, but you can't go into politics, can't serve the government. Only those who wield real power are to convert it into political one. Personally I don't _feel_ it right, on the other hand having entire positions for people who only throw meaningless words doesn't seem right either. Current democracy is nothing but a shiny curtain for how things are really done - bloody and messy.

Unfortunately he's right to a point. As much of an unpopular thought it is some people are simply born into better lives than others and others grow and improve their situation beyond what they were brought into. The idea of "being born equal" is more a matter of how a system should treat it's citizens rather than skills, abilities, wealth or appearance. On that note, even if that were the case being _born_ equal does not mean that you will not fall behind your peers or to the other end surpass them. But of course being born into a better life is likely to be beneficial to you over your life. Poverty etc are not inescapable situations but indeed some people are given a leg up where others need to work harder to get the same result. I mean I'm pretty much dirt poor most of the time but for an example I've recently found and repaired multiple parts for a computer setup that would cost something to the effect of 2000 dollars... And it's cost me almost nothing but the time and effort I put in where others wouldn't bother.

This appeals more to blackpill narratives than redpill narratives. Redpillers wouldn't touch this because they believe everyone can always improve their situation. Blackpillers have a "You're fucked, you should just off yourself because your life is shit" mentality but they're not as common as redpillers because redpillers are usually misogynists who want to raise their appeal, while blackpillers tend to be hopeless incels but being misogynistic isn't necessarily a requirement. Look at Andrew Tate's comments on short men compared to WheatWaffles. Andrew Tate said on the Fresh&Fit podcast that if you're short, you should work on factors you can control instead of feeling bad about yourself, because whenever the richest guy walks into a room, he's always more important than whoever's taller than him. In a debate with Vaush, WheatWaffles said that short men should just not bother to try and find relationships because stats show that the common denominator in relationships is a height difference between men and women, and that short men are more likely to have low salaries, off themselves, and be lifelong bachelors - claiming that since nothing can be done about height, you should just lay down and accept it. I love watching political extremists debate, which is also why I watched Code Geas.

With everyone else we just see their facial expressions to get an idea of what they think of Charles’s speech, but Lloyd actually says something during it. And I think it’s because like C.C. (who comments in the end of the speech but not during the speech) Lloyd is very much neutral. He has no undying loyalty to Brittannia nor any hatred towards it or it’s enemies. He has no interest in changing the world, only in making weapons that do. The only reason he is on Brittannia’s side is because of convenience. It’s true his commentary is a sort of praise. “Evolution, what a pretty word” but it’s not because he supports Brittannia, it’s more because he likes it. Another thing to note about Lloyd is that he doesn’t salute Brittannia unlike the other members of his team. Again, not out of rebellion just out of a lack of support.

the most terrifying lies are the ones paired with truth. most on what he says is fact and he goes even on to bring both a good point against democracy ,in which politicians aren't elected by competency but by how "politicly correct" they are, and against socialisms, in which someone works hard gets the same amount of money as a lazy person contributing nothing to society. he obviously didn't totally obliterated either of them but the arguments can (and maybe are) used in debates. It is also true that we are not the same in skill nor in appearance, and in the cold war both russia and the USA only progressed in the speed they did because of their competition against each other. But with all that being said there are two fatal flaws in his ideology. 1: our appearance, wealth, as well as physical and mental skill can not and should not define how he are treated. nobody can chose to be born or raised in the way they want it which is why it shouldn't define how society treats us. 2: in the world of code geass Britannia invades many nations and turns them into colonies and addresses both the nation and its people by a number. this is how Japan was turned into area 11 and the japanese into elevens. in this speech Charles says discrimination means competition and progress, but that's is also false. its as if a professional runner runs a race against an overweight person or someone who can't walk to begin with. That is not competition and the pro runner will most likely not gain any merit from the race. you also never see a grandmaster at chess play a serious partie against someone who isn't familiar with the game or someone who is , and sorry for my choice of words, retarded. do you really think the grandmaster will become better at the game by playing against someone like that? NO! its not just bad sportsmanship and isn't just going to make the inferior participant feel like shit, but there is also no point to it. and what Britannia does in the anime is exactly that, their beating someone weak and defenseless who already lies on the ground and call that a "fair boxing match". if competition is truly what Charles wants then why rob yourself of the opportunity to have actual competition? It selfcontradictionaly and is why Charles is a awsome villain. Villains aren't supposed to be 100% in the right or else they wouldn't be villains.
@fasa34222 жыл бұрын
Of course the competition must be fair, nevertheless it's quite right by saying that diversity it's a kind of a fuel for competition and in order to have competition you need diversity. Now it must be said that the world diversity doesn't imply whose is better, that analysis is left to the individual. In a racist and/or classist system that analysis is not left to the individual, it's hard coded in the system's structure that the one on the top are better and deserve the best that the society can affort. Also in such a system competition is useless because you can never change your status or if you can is insanely difficult because the top one are setting the condition of that competition.

"our appearance, wealth, as well as physical and mental skill can not and should not define how he are treated." And yet the reality is that we are. And it's quite normal to do so. We all instinctively favour physical ability. We all instinctively favour usable talent. We all instinctively dislike those who are incapable of either, if not pity them. ". nobody can chose to be born or raised in the way they want it which is why it shouldn't define how society treats us." Charles' assessment that such things are mere lies we say to comfort ourselves is accurate. You can give all the "shoulds" and "should nots", but when opposing concepts of society that worked globally for the entirety of human history and prehistory, you have your back against a wall. "its as if a professional runner runs a race against an overweight person or someone who can't walk to begin with. That is not competition and the pro runner will most likely not gain any merit from the race. " You'd be correct that it's no contest and unfair, and that the pro would have no real problem. But you're missing the more important part: It then forces the overweight man to either get into shape (evolve) or give up (go extinct). Or, he could even "evolve" by trying a different tactic. After all, it's not a fair competition; you merely compete however you can, as with nature. Destroy your opponent's life, break his legs, etc, etc. In essence Charles' view is one of absolute darwinism - the strongest survive, and those who cannot adapt are thrown to the wayside. This is why Britannia is absurdly harsh to those it conquers until they prove themselves to be valuable, worthy opponents again who can stand on equal ground; Britannia wins the conflict, and therefore the old nation must go extinct (the process pre-dates Charles himself but the general mindset remains).
@revengance41492 жыл бұрын
@@MrJoeyWheeler for your first point, Charles may be right, that’s how it works but that doesn’t mean it’s how it should work. If you’re talking about seeing how it works then you and I see the same thing and I am disgusted by it. We are far beyond survival of the fittest. Our survival is ensured. We can think about moral questions that our ancestors or animals couldn’t/ can’t think about. Not just because of lack of intelligence or education but also because you don’t have time for it when trying to survive. We do though and care about our fellow human beings not just because we can profit from it but because it simply is the right thing to do. Sure the fat person can try to get in shape ect but why force him. It’s not important anymore. He should lose weight to better his life, to live longer and be more attractive not because some wannabe darwins force it onto him. And also if you honestly think that all the starving children. All the people who have lost limbs or were born with defects can just work out and be as good as they want to, then you are delusional. „What do you know about the weak? You weren’t born poor. You’ve never been hungry. you don’t know what it’s like to steal and fight and kill just to survive.“ -Raiden: Metal Gear Rising. @iruleatgames Жыл бұрын
While the Darwinian ideology espoused by the emperor is clearly morally bankrupt, your rebuttals are still vastly misguided. Before even getting to your first point, you argue that the United States and the Soviet Union progressed as they did due to competition, but other than very specific propaganda goals like "winning the space race", this couldn't be further from the truth. The Soviet Union was never competitive in the slightest, and used its people for slave labor to try to build a reasonable army that could project power globally, far beyond its sustainable capacity. Commands economies due not work. While China initially made this same mistake under Mao, "reformers" in the system helped develop the corporatist fascist model they use today, which is far more efficient, although still lacking when compared to the free market (obviously, the free market doesn't give them the control they want over their populace). Moving on to your actual points, you argue that everyone should be treated equally, because birth is not a choice, and implicit in your assertion, is that life ought to be fair. Unfortunately, this is why many people are drawn to communism in the first place, despite its blatant evils. Those evils are directly because it is impossible to legislate fairness, nor should the average citizen get to decide what fairness means (for instance, some people believe life is only fair if we allow women to kill their infant children). Adult Universal Suffrage, which every "western democracy" was never designed to have, has given elites incentive to use mass media and dumb down the population to perpetually control them in a war against the middle class. Preventing social mobility is how those at the top maintain their power, and this mobility this can only be possible under a de-regulated capitalist system, something the working class is told to hate. Giving those who take from the system more than they put in, should not be given the right to vote to raise their own welfare income. Even the slightest bit of logic would demonstrate the absolute absurdity of holding the opposite position. Similarly, while it is unfortunate that there are those who are born with mental deficiencies, giving them the right to decide the rules of society we must all live under is equally ludicrous. Even the concept of non-families having the right to vote, is moronic, considering that family is a pre-requisite to having a stake in the future of society, however, those born with severe physical deformities, such as dwarfism, will find this a lot harder to achieve. This isn't to say that anyone should have their "human rights" taken away, but voting is not a human right (we can't kill children, but they can't vote either). Your second point, which is an attack on colonialism, is a very abstract unnuanced position. While colonialism typically causes a lot more problems than it solves, and is unsustainable, there is no "inherent evilness" to it. While stories like the Belgian Congo are absolutely horrific, there are also stories like India, which had its quality of life significantly improved, and was objectively good for the sub-continent. Remember that before the British arrived, India was still practicing child sex slavery, and this can be seen in neighboring Afghanistan (Pakistan was a part of the British Raj), where tribal leaders still continue to molest and fully penetrate boys with single digit ages. Providing these children was actually how the CIA kept the tribes in-line, and was widely reported on at the time. By making your claim entirely based on rhetoric, rather than evidence, you have inadvertently argued for the continual rape of kids, and is a primary example of why those who either don't have the time and/or the knowledge to argue these kinds of positions, shouldn't.

Seriously think about this for a minute: If we are not all equal in abilities or in inclinations, then why do we all have the same basic rights?
@wilmercante17993 жыл бұрын
Perhaps because of the riots, think of Israel where there is constantly chaos due to cases of intolerance. Or in the independence of the American countries that in part rebelled for having fewer rights than the citizens of the metropolis. Or in the anime where the elevens want separated of britannia.
@k-techpl72223 жыл бұрын
The answer is simple actually. To ensure the competition. If in competition one actor can outpower the other just by power of legal privilege then they cease to compete. Instead of an elite which has to constantly maintain their status as elites you have elites that has their status guaranteed, you have elites which can spend most of their time doing leasure activities instead of engaging in something that'll improve them and society overall. Equality is not wrong because an equal distribution is wrong, equality is wrong because it is a privilege bestowed upon those who do not benefit society to reap the benefits of society while not providing a service one of their peers finds valuable. But such privilege can be unequal, being bestowed on a special few instead of the masses. But it is still wrong in both cases.
@burgamushun3 жыл бұрын
Because it is ensured by power.
@Sewblon3 жыл бұрын
@@wilmercante1799 That is an interesting idea. But here is the problem with that: The United States still has riots from the descendants of former slaves. Turkey doesn't have those riots. Turkey also had slaves. But they castrated their male slaves and made their female slaves have children from their male owners. So their slave descendants don't exist as a distinct group. America itself has a lot more problems with its black population than it does with its native population, because its native population is so much smaller, because they killed most of them. The race riots tend to happen in the north, not in the south. What I am getting at is, you can ensure stability through repression, and not allowing the marginalized to survive and reproduce. So that is not much of an argument for equality.
@wilmercante17993 жыл бұрын
@@Sewblon Mmmm, if you realize you are mainly proposing more an integration of the population and not a hierarchy of society xD. Instead of creating a dominant caste, you propose to make everyone feel a part of it. As in the Roman Empire, there will be no separatist revolts if everyone feels part of the empire. On the other hand, in the United States I would not call it an ethnic riot but one that arose out of economic inequality. They are not like the Palestinians who want a country for their people or the Kurds. Rather, the important factor I would say is the difference in income, if you are poor you are more likely to be inclined to commit criminal acts, and as your social group is more problematic it is more likely that you will be discriminated against by generalization. Like coming from a dangerous neighborhood in your city basically.

Everyone struggles and competes just to make sure they survive and live to see the next day, while the rich enjoy the lavish life style, we got folks working their butts off to the bone to make sure their families have a home and food to eat. But Charles' speech has flaws, but at the same time truth, we're continuing climbing until we rise so we can reach our goals, but he missed the point that we struggle, we suffer, we fall down, and are lead astray, but no matter what we always have loved ones to pick us back up [Yes I quoted Edward Elric], pure stubborness of the human spirit which the speech acknowledges in my opinion, BUT also ignores key factors. I can argue what I said explains why I say theres something wrong with the world where this speech is agreable [to an extent EXCEPT for massive key factors] as everyone's busy fighting and being angry at eachother instead of truly unting in their struggles as one unit to make a brighter future and society, coming together, and understand eachother aka they ignore the positives of the human spirit. Yeah this man speech is pure social darwinism survival of the fittest shit masking his true intentions, but that's why folks pointed out there's truth, but also lies in this speech.
