I miss the damage system of MK9. It makes you feel like fighting in deadliest battles. The fighters have damage and blood after a few punches, kicks and stabs. When you get shot in the head or stab in the body, a lot of blood shows on the body with the damage, which is pretty satisfying. Meanwhile in MKX and MK11, they almost completely remove the damage system. Even if you get punched, kicked and stabbed multiple times brutally, you can only see only single scratch on the body and mostly clean af, which is not satisfying. MK’s graphics are great nowadays, they should bring back those damage systems.

Very true I will say the most realistic battle damage came from mk vs dc but mk 9 had ur opponents blood stay on their clothes depending on the type of attack like if u got shot or stabbed

In my opinion, i like the damage concept in MK9 but i also think it's way too much. While i do love how detailed the damage looks, i think that it's exaggerated because in MK9, you literally leg sweep a character for 4 times, and suddenly they lose parts of their skin on their chest, back, arms and legs

Actually the "revealing" costumes are better because more covering clothes can be heavy/ opponents can grab you easier, and with the revealing outfits you can use distraction to your advantage

I agree with you on the whole hypocricy thing If they wanna dress up their female characters that's fine(though they could at last give them cool looking designs idk i found them underwhelming) but for them to cover it up with "logic" while all the male characters fight shirtless with almost no protection is weird. It's very clear that they weren't going for "realism"(ha, realism in mortal kombat), they just wanted to get rid of sexual themes in the game. And personally, for me, that's kind of a downer. Obviously cause i'm a guy and i like looking at hot chicks, but also cause MK was all about breaking rules and not caring what the media says and now they kinda just caved in. Oh well, as long as the game and story is good i guess...But i hope they'll take the series in the older direction or remake some older stuff. I'd really love Armageddon remake with all the characters, mini-games(racing, chess, puzzle), unique fatalities and story mode.

These damage details that are on the characters' bodies are really cool to see in the dc vs mk game, there was also this damage detail but it was much cleaner since they didn't allow the game to be very violent because it had dc characters, but I miss it this damage detail, they stopped doing these details in mk10 and then allowed you to customize your character in mk11 and I believe that this will not come back since for now I think there will always be customization in the mk gamesI wouldn't have time to do damage details in each customization of the character's skin, there will only be blood on the clothes

These are cool but I'm not gonna lie, I'm glad that they drop this "Hyper battle damage look" for the sequels. Battle damages are one thing but these flat out look like Zombies (Hell, most of the injuries look like bite & claw marks so maybe that's what they were going for LOL). I mean, the game has never been realistic, to begin with so, why they're trying to apply "realistic damages" all of the sudden. Besides, if you look like one of these undead fiends after the fight, I doubt you'll walk this one off, let alone fight 10 other people afterward.

pretty awful how they have to go through the most deadly combat ever. Then when your finally done getting flesh and muscle ripped off your body and still having to get back up to be beat up even more to the point where your bones literally show through and shatter to pieces. The two options there are is to be decapitated or impaled with as much pain as they're already going through. (If you lose) or to have to go through it a second time with somebody else (if you win)

Yeah, I’m not gonna lie, Noob Saibot was a badass in MK9 than MK11, I feel like they nerfed him down a bit in terms of story mode, but I guess that’s what they always do with the badass characters; make them useless 51:38. And to top it off, MK9 was good, it feels nostalgic to me, I wanna get it again, though I do have MK1 right now, I’m still adapting to it, but yeah, I met get an old console, just to play MK9 again. MK9 had so much potential and was so good, it feels like the most underrated game still, just a remastered version of Armageddon. I mean the tag teams were rarely used, and people are only starting to make the most out of them, even up until now. You’re also right on the damage concept, so good that the blood was so extreme, it felt so much gore and satisfying to see, especially when Noob Saibot’s first fatality is performed on a opponent’s normal blood being spilled. (Cough, cough) Reptile was done dirty with the damage concept on him 😂😂😂, while the robots like Cyrax, Cyber Sub-Zero and Sektor look like they had no damage done to them at all, and even the damage done to them were so little, that it was just scratches. Honestly, the ninjas were certainly the best in this game alongside Nighwolf, Kenshi (never played him), Kabal and Baraka. Great video overall! 👍🏾
