When my sister in law died young, leaving kids of her own, everyone worried about the kids and the husband she left behind. Of course I did too. I worried about all of us. But the person I worried about the most was my mother in law. . I knew the kids would grow up and be okay. I knew the husband would remarry and be okay. My own husband took it hard, which inadvertently led to our divorce. It hit a lot of people hard. But the person who NEVER got over it was my mother in law. She never healed. That was her child who died. Truly the worst loss is the loss of a child. I am sooo glad AMC never 'forgot' that Brooke lost a child.

I think she was Adam's PA. He really played on her vulnerability. It really had a Garden Of Shadows Vibe. Brooke was like Olivia, Adam was like Malcolm, and Dixie was like Alicia. I never liked Dixie, she called people on their hypocrisy and their infidelity but conveniently forgot she almost destroyed a marriage.

Adam & Brooke made a great pairing. I like them together. Sad that Adam got with Dixie which produced JR, but I never cared for Dixie.

One of my best friends lost her son and his girlfriend to a serial drunk driver. I don't know how she copes. she relives it every year on the anniversary. The drunk driver is doing 20 years--and he's only in his 20's.
