They were brothers but, in this clip, they may not have known that.

I think they know but they grew up separately. Dimitri was the prince and Edmund, I think, the child of the maid. But I'm not sure. But I think they don't yet know they are brothers, but they did know each other as I'm pretty sure they few up on the same estate.

They did find out later they were related , they did not know growing up. Edmund was raised as the gardeners’ and maids’ son. He wound up being the son of Hugo Marick, Dimitri’s half- brother.
