Boy, James Kiberd really didn’t want to talk about Kate Collins, did he? She was my favorite. I’d love to see her on a future episode...and Julia Barr!

Maybe Jill Larson would think I took her creation too seriously, but I always felt bad for her character of Ursula Blackwell on "ONE LIFE TO LIVE". Ursula displayed serious mental issues stemming from a very isolated childhood and knew no better way to communicate than being reactive. Her character would do some over the top things, but despite the hysteria, what Ms. Larson did, I felt, was portray real affliction in a human being. It could be sad at times. Of course, when she was cast as Opal Gardner on "ALL MY CHILDREN", I was very happy for her taking on a more beloved character, and of course I started watching the show once she began, just in time for the show's 20th Anniversary. I have to thank her for letting me love more than one soap opera.

Just finished watching it. Loved the show today. Loved Trevor and Natalie. Loved Opal and Erica as best friends. Derek Frey was my favorite cop on AMC.

This is my 2nd viewing. This was a great treat to see these 4 actors from that 2nd golden period of AMC. This was much appreciated. My favorite timeline is 1989/90 to about 1993/94 with so many great storylines through that somewhat quick but general 5 year timeframe, many with Uncle Porkchop seemingly right in the middle of things a lot of times. Natalie trapped in the well and the whole Janet from another planet saga is my favorite storyline. The unraveling of Billy Clyde 2 years earlier was also great. This was such an unbelievable time of writing quality and character development with the show. This was also leading into the early stages of introducing many brand new but soon to be long-tenured Pine Valley characters. There were so many vivid storylines around this period. The two sister soaps also had high calibre writing during this stretch. ABC was battling itself and they raised their own bar which produced even better writing. IMO the early 90s is the quintessential period of AMC with really great writing and character interaction and it was kind of a boom period for the show. It truly exceeds late 70s/early 80s AMC which was pure gold of it's own. Thanks James, Jill, Bill and Matt. I am going to the Metalunica concert tonight but first I will buy some LDS from some leather jacket wearing pusher in Center City. If I don't come home tell Uncle Porkchop I probably overdosed and then got crushed to death by the dangerous science students and backgammon champions trampling everyone at the concert. PS: The fridge is mouldy and I threw everything out. Move out of that place Porkchop! Praise Angus!

Also Matt Bomer who played Donald played Ian Kipling who had no idea his Fiance Sarah was Gay who was in love with Bianca Montgomery. Tuc Watkins who played Hank also played David Vickers on One Life To Live. Also in the "Original" Keith Prentice (1970 Larry) was on Dark Shadows whose Mansion Collingwood Manor was considered to be the Inspiration for Foxworth Hall in Flowers In The Attic. Also the 2020 Cast made the Cover of Attitude a UK LGBT Magazine and it's been shown on Netflix The UK & Australia and the fans loved it there too.

Once again catching this great interview loved Matt borlenghi as Brian. Late I am glad he is okay now. Considering how it was handled on AMC back in late 1992 early 1993. And considering my thoughts concerning how it impacted another world and my thoughts I have expressed concerning how that was handled. Which I have shared in other forums Now it's time for some info on James kibard and our love for atwt and Doug m. The chararecter of Hal Munson was modeled after the character of Mike Donovan a charecter Doug m created for loving. And Doug m wanted originally wanted James kibard to play Hal Munson. But I think he wanted to take a break from acting at the time and that's how benji Hendrickson was found. Considering years later James kibbard filled in on atwt. And was way more Hal vs randy mantooth. Just was not sure if you knew that.
@TheLocherRoom2 жыл бұрын
I was there when James and Randy were there. Losing Benjamin was a really difficult time for all the fans and all who knew him. Thanks for sharing that intel. I love learning more each day, Gabriel.
@gabrielstern49922 жыл бұрын
@The Locher Room yea it was but honestly killing Hal off was the right thing to do. But maybe had James kibbard come back for a little bit just to have brought Hal and Barbara back together then killed the charecter off. And did the tribute to Ben Hendrickson.

What was going on with Matt back in 1991 that you are referring to?
@gabrielstern4992 Жыл бұрын
@@NYRNGR1 when Matt borlenghi left as he discussed in this interview he was replaced suddenly with Brian Greene who had been playing the 4th Sam fowler. And while Brian had told aw he was going to leave when his contract was up at another world which was up around June of 1993. Like right around a week later he got a call from his agent that they needed someone to immediately take over the part of Brian bodine. So brian Greene then went to Micheal liabson and begged him to let him out of his another world contract early so he could audition for the part of brian bodine. For which Micheal liabson did but in doing that it ruined the couple of Sam fowler and Amanda Cory for which another world never fully recovered from. And ulrimely got canceled. And part of what made it difficult to try and recast Sam fowler again or to even tried later on to have had Robert Kelker Kelly try and play Sam fowler again was because aw to try and acomadate Brian greens singing talent decided to before he pulled that stunt to write in Sam fowler as a sudden country singer with a, singing talent for pop mutt Lange style garth Brooks country music. Who suddenly took off and chose his country music singing career over his wife and daughter. At aw never to be heard from again. Anyway brian Greene maybe lasted 6 months at AMC. Before I think Felicia minei behr. canned him at AMC. But she should have never pulled her stunt with Brian greens agent in the first place. You don't go after another actor from a rival show especially a p and g show until thier contract is up. Now at proctor at the time it was possible to share actors or actresses between different proctor and gamble shows. Because it was done with Steve basset who played Seth Snyder on atwt. But also played a doctor charecter on another world at the same time. Anyway just my thoughts hope this clarifies what I meant concerning what happened with Matt at AMC.

I was just watching the Natalie in the well story on KZbin this weekend and was curious about James Kiberd's side of the story regarding the feud with Kate Collins but I guess he didn't want to. Even with the state of the world as it is now, not many are willing to forgive and forget and move forward. Heck, Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell did after all these years and she filed sexual assault charges against him in the 90s. 🤷🏾♂️
