I have that filter in several synths like the Polivoks all soviet made synths. It is a polivoks filter in your thing. Polivoks is one of the best synths ever made. Not very smooth on the original Polivoks. I love that synth!
@JayKaufman3 жыл бұрын
Puts possibly one of the biggest acid generating synths ever (the MS-20) through the Acid Box III = doing it wrong. ;) The MS-20's filter is so foul as is.

Stupid newb question time: my mixer has a mono fx send and stereo return. Soooo...how do I connect it to use on various devices? Just a splitter...a new mixer... choose which device to dedicate it to and connect it straight from the stereo outs of the Digitakt through the acidbox, into the stereo channel of the mixer?
@ATTACT_TV Жыл бұрын
Can you put this thing through a guitar amp? Do I have to go mono out to the guitar amp and what's the safest way so I don't murder my speaker.

Is the CV in just for expression or does it also work with envelope following? If not, does envelope following work with tempo tapping? Just trying to justify buying anything without MIDI control anymore.

Any chance you could say what the PH2 and CHO settings/amounts were? How many voices in Unison (at least 2 I assume)? Were the oscs tuned to C2 and C1? Was any distortion from the OB-6 applied? Were there any other pedals involved in the making of this film? :-) I ask, because I set my OB-6 and AB3 to what you're showing there in view, and it doesn't sound like that, and I really quite like that sound you got out of them! EDIT: I'm also wondering if it's a matter of volume out of the OB-6 and whatever else it's routed through in your studio vs. mine, since the AB3 is definitely sensitive to volume differences.
@StephenLearson4 жыл бұрын
Dave hmm I can’t really remember. I don’t think I used any pedals. As I recall the OB6 was going pretty hot into the AB3. The signal also went to a pair of Neve 511’s which have a breakup kind of distortion when cranked.

Hey Stephen! Nick here again. How does the Acidbox sound through some basic 70s synth sounds? Like organ, electric piano, and string machine? I have a few basic keyboards lacking a full filter so something like this might be what I'm looking for.
@StephenLearson4 жыл бұрын
It sounds great. The overdrive the gain adds is great on organs/strings. Electric piano or Rhodes sounds great too, anything with a low mid range eq bump gets all warm and gooey
@TheLordcasio Жыл бұрын
Ya it sounds purdy good, but without any sort of stereo offset, it feels like they missed a big part of the idea of running dual parallel filters. There's a lot that can be done with that....and then there's that lack of MIDI control.
