So many intriguing books! And we have quite a few in common, too! 😊 King Lear took me some time to get into. All Shakespeare, for that matter. But it's Shakespeare! 😁 Trains and vehicles going by as we film is, like you said, SUPER RUDE 😒 A Thousand Splendid Suns is indeed heartbreaking. Prepare yourself before you jump in :) I have the same issue with font. Small fonts hate on my eyes like no other 😩 Love your collection, Olivia! Happy reading ❤

I appreciate you mentioning the font size and even showing us how the pages look. I'm intimated by it too (and page numbers lol). Sometimes I totally pass on a book simply because the font size and spacing isn't well enough for me to follow. A Thousand Splendid Suns made me cry so much! But it's such a great book. I want to try reading the lord of the rings trilogy this year too! hope you have a good reading year :) 📚

I completely recommend "We are not free" by Traci Chee. It was so heartbreaking and moving and to this day, I still think about it highly.

The Last True Poets of the Sea is one of my favorite books. Its very much YA contemporary und a (lose?) retelling of Twelft Night :)

You should definitely pick up "The Lonely City" by Olivia Laing. I'm not usually a non-fiction reader but it was one of the most captivating books I've ever read.

Please do read The Lord of the Rings. I recommend you read The Hobbit first, as though it is very different in its tone and target demography (it is a light-hearted and faster-paced children's book whereas LotR it heavy, slow and deep), it does ease you into Tolkien's style and makes the slower beginning of the LotR more bearable (legend says anyone who manages to get to The Council of Elrond will love the book). The reason we hate those covers is because they're from the Amazon TV series which has little to do with the books but they've shover it down our throats anyway. I does look cool, though. EDIT: Just saw your short which implies you've read the Hobbit already. Good.

I also bought Jonathan strange and Mr Norrel which is so big 1000 pages, will be some challenge. You have some interesting reads to look forward to, hope you enjoy them

Omg not to add more books to your tbr buttttttt if you love historical fiction, don’t know if you had a chance to pick up Lessons in chemistry yet!!! It was my fave book of 2022 and I think you’d like it. It takes place in the 1950s!!!

The one non fiction that i read in your pile is why i don't talk to white people about race, and while it is centered on british history it was so interesting to me, i annotated a lot of it and would really recommend it 📚
