The German automaker Porsche has revealed the upcoming Tayacan turbo Cross Turismo Facelift. which is the brand’s new all-electric sport wagon built on the MEB-EVO platform. The Cross Turismo will compete against the Audi RS6 Avant in terms of performance and is reportedly set to go on sale in the summer of 2024.
in terms of exterior design, The Cross Turismo variants of the Taycan showcase a distinctive elongated wagon-style body that sets them apart from the regular Taycan sedan. For the 2025 lineup, these models benefit from a range-wide exterior update, featuring new front and rear styling, as well as revamped headlights and taillights. The updated front fascia complements the high-resolution HD matrix technology of the headlights, which boast detailed optics and the signature four-point graphics.
At the rear, the Porsche logo within the light strip now sports a glass-look finish, providing a three-dimensional effect. It can also be illuminated, featuring welcome/leaving animations. The side profile features standard 20-inch Sport Aero wheels within the wheel arches, with the option to upgrade to 21-inch wheels. Porsche prioritizes aerodynamic wheels wrapped in low-rolling resistance tires for improved efficiency.
In terms of dimensions, The Cross Turismo measures 4,980 mm in length, 1,967 mm in width, and 1,410 mm in height, featuring a wheelbase of 2,910 mm.
The interior technology of the Taycan remains consistent in the extended roof model. This includes a curved digital gauge cluster, a 10.3-inch touchscreen positioned in the middle of the dashboard, and a vertically mounted 8.4-inch touchscreen integrated into the center console. Porsche offers additional features like a 10.3-inch passenger-side touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, built-in navigation, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The driver-assistance systems are now operated with a new standard control lever, though a preference for more physical switchgear remains.
the Taycan wagon provides a standard four-seat or optional five-seat configuration, the latter incorporating a small center seat in the rear row. Thanks to a standard panoramic sunroof and a raised roofline resembling a station wagon, the Cross Turismo offers slightly more front headroom and significantly more rear-seat headroom compared to the sedan.
The Porsche Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo offers notable cargo space, featuring 2.9 cubic feet in the frunk and 14.3 cubic feet in the trunk. Folding down the rear seats expands the storage capacity to a total of 41.3 cubic feet.
In 2025, the Porsche Taycan lineup will see improved performance, and the Turbo Cross Turismo versions benefit from an enhanced powertrain featuring a more powerful rear-axle motor and upgraded batteries. This results in higher specifications and faster acceleration. The 2025 Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo boasts 697 hp, up from the previous 616 hp, while the Turbo S reaches a staggering 764 hp.
With launch control and over-boost power, the Turbo Cross Turismo achieves up to 871 hp in the Turbo and 938 hp in Turbo S for a brief ten seconds, along with 818 lb-ft of torque. This substantial power enables the electric wagon to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.4 seconds, three-tenths quicker than the outgoing model. The Turbo model's 0-60 time decreases from 3.1 seconds to an impressive 2.6 seconds. Both models, equipped with summer tires, have a top speed of 155 mph.
The new Taycan is available to order now with prices for the base model starting at £86,500 for the single-motor saloon, rising to £95,900 for the 4S and £134,100 for the Turbo. The Turbo S tops the range at £161,400, while spec-for-spec the Sport Turismo will command a further £800 and the Cross Turismo an extra £1,100.
