I've owned Super Duty's for over 20 years and I absolutely love them! They are a true work horse that hasn't let me down and I will continue to purchase them. However, it would be nice to have a steel bed option. I purchased my latest truck brand new in September of 2017 and it has some holes & dents from metal fence posts and wood. Farmers and loggers don't toss things gingerly and I noticed the first puncture the following spring. Personally the Super Duty is purchased for work/hauling, mileage is just a bonus.

Number one reason to get any Ford is they employ more U.S. workers than any other manufacturer. While G.M. and Chrysler close more US factories and build new in Mexico and China, Ford spends money here!! They don’t do everything right , but who does?? I hear people whining about aluminum boxes and bodies but I see a helluva lot of Ram(especially) and GM vehicles that are less than 10 years old and already have rust problems!! I have a 2003 F-350 that I plow snow with that is just starting to bubble in a few spots. Like I said nobody’s perfect but I’m sticking with Ford, especially for making more stuff HERE!!

Consider two interpretations for your statement: 1) Energy Storage: Petroleum's standard for a barrel is 42 gallons. If you're claiming on battery holds the energy equivalent of (300*42 = 12,600 gallons, then consider if my gas powered vehicle got a dismal 10 MPG. You're saying I could go 126,000 miles on one battery charge. Sorry, but you're WRONG. 2) Energy consumed in battery production: If you're saying that the production of a battery consumes 300 barrels, you're also WRONG. Over the last decade, a barrel of crude has averaged ~$60/barrel, 60*300=$18,000. It costs quite a bit more once it is refined, distilled and distributed to consumers producing products. But even at just the cost of crude, you're saying the energy costs alone to produce a battery would be $18,000, and that's ignoring other costs (markups, distribution, inventory, warranty, advertising, taxes, overhead, profit, etc., etc.)

I've been a Ford truck owner for 30 years. If Ford honored us workers so much they wouldn't charge as much as they do to make their billions in profit every year. Food for thought. A fully loaded F-350 King Ranch is now 100,000.00 while yearly incomes are way below that. In 1970 you could buy a fully loaded family vehicle for a quarter of your yearly income. What happened???

I'm curious on the power figures on the 6.8 vs the 7.3. 7.3 makes 430hp and 475tq but it appears that the power will be bumped a bit? 6.2 DOHC right now is 385hp 430tq, so I'm thinking this new 6.8 has to put out just over 400hp and probably 460-470tq, bumping the 7.3 probably to 440hp and maybe 495-500tq.
@gregparrott2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Unless the 6.8 is dramatically different, with much better fuel mileage, it seems like an odd choice for Ford to remove ~30 cubic inches rather than keep their focus on improving the 7.3.

That’s kinda what the tremor is meant to be. It has a optional winch and has off-road modes like the raptor. With heavy duty suspension it’s hard to make a 3/4 or 1 ton truck handle the desert without custom suspension.
@gregparrott2 жыл бұрын
What baffles me is that the SuperDuty's have two steel prongs that drop down about 4 inches, relative to the frame. They sit behind the air dam. While the air dam can be removed in order to improve approach angles, the metal prongs are welded to the frame. They dramatically limit the approach angle. Last Winter, a friend attempted driving over plowed snow that had hardened into an icy berm. It's no surprise that the ice broke his air dam. But it also bent one of the prongs. It's not clear to me what purpose they serve. If I were part of Ford's team for off road applications, removal of these would be low hanging fruit for improving off road abilities. At a minimum, I'd make them bolt on features instead of being welded to the frame.

That's all I really need is just a plain jane 4x4 work truck, with the V8 and a manual transmission would be awesome....It really changes the vehicle's driving characteristics being able to 100% control your gear selection without a computer trying to figure it out for you. I'm just not sure if I want to go with a regular cab or extended cab with 8 foot bed. Leaning more towards an extended cab as it provides some out of the weather storage space for tools and such if you have the bed full of materials. 1988 F250 4x4 super cab long bed 460 V8 and 5 speed, 689k on it, still going, and still pulling whatever I want it to....would be nice to step into the 21st century of vehicles but the electronic stuff now just turns me off. A simple radio and buttons/knobs for the climate control is all I need. I thought trucks were supposed to be for work, not pretend to be luxury soccer mom mini vans. Wish they'd just offer a 6 speed manual, it is a "Super Duty" truck at least that's what they keep pretending they are...it should have the proper transmission. 10 speeds in an automatic is way too many gears for it to pick from, luckily there's so many and so closely ratio'd you can't tell its shifting, so you don't realize all the wear and heat that its causing.

You still couldn't put LEDs as a standard across all trims. Just as a safety measure. 1. Bring the headlight housing a bit around the fender like the 2020 gen/look. As it sits now, the headlights look like a 90's Chevy van. 2. LEDs should be standard in the rear for sure. to make braking and turn signaling to be the brightest and most noticeable in any lighting condition and be the safest. Why should a low trim have less of a safety function, we live in a time that LED's are not so expensive to manufacture and install on a truck that it has already designed on the higher trims, it shouldn't make a big financial difference to put the LED housing/assembly on the frikin xl/low trim levels. But it does make an expense difference when you make all different types of cheap and more advanced headlight housing. Remember that safety shouldn't only be given to the folks who can afford a freaking king ranch or fancier lariat Options. At least basic LED brakes and turn signals should be a safety feature available on all trucks. LED front turn signals and headlights as well, but that's a bonus but still necessary in this day and age 3. Make a new v10 option as another high tourqe option for the 6.7L besides the 7.3L

From what has been posted on line, there are over 40,000 2022 Super Duties parked at the Kentucky motorspeedway waiting for missing computer chips! Those won't be delivered until well into 2023! So when will the 2023s be delivered ? 2024?!!!

Would this be why it’s taking so long to get my 2022 F350 and all the headache I’ve gone through with the one I have? Very neat truck but as a customer I’d hope you would take care of people who have been dealing with the company.

ford may end up giving you the 2023 f350

@@georgiadriven I wish. The one I have they are taking back its been in one to many times. The new one stated it’s built and it’s a 2022 supposedly there’s a shipping issue.

I've been stranded on the side of the road in many Ford pickups with all kinds of interesting and expensive problems but somehow I still like Ford and I still like their trucks.

That’s why they now have that nice lay flat seat for when you have to wait for the tow truck.😂

When does Ford plan to ship those trucks waiting for parts?

2023 for the 2022 trucks already built! ,

@@LWRC They may use 2022 chasis
@LWRC2 жыл бұрын
@@wj2791 I don't think Ford can do that!! Ford changed certain chassis / drivetrain components between 2022 & 2023 in their Superduty trucks and they are setting themselves up for class action lawsuit if they try to pass a 2022 chassis for a 2023! There may be enough differences between the two years that putting a bed from a 2023 on to a 2022 chassis may not even work!!

Wish my 2019 F-250 Laredo had that step behind the back door to get into the bed. Just a bit late.🤨

All of this yet no one address how over priced they are. Yes they are commercial grade but that's not an excuse.
