The OEM CAS (the sensors specifically, since it's just an LED and photo resistor) is very very reliable (just think of how many OEM Nissan's are running around with no issues. HOWEVER!! As Herman said, the 360 teeth/windows 'can' cause issues, specifically jitter = bad (from belt chain irregularities or even wurm gear wear on SR20/FJ20 or cam torsional flex on FWD motors.) Personally I like using a $50 AEM or DIY-Auto tune 24+1 trigger disc as a cam home as it keeps the cam belt area fully sealed (use in CA18 / 54C-SR20 and FJ20.) + is a drop in solution. As for crank trigger. yeah. you should be upgrading to a crank trigger. Lots of good options either dedicated solutions like this where you can use a damper of choice or integrated solutions like the Ross dampers. (Personally I like 12-1 or 36-2, since if you happen to lose the cam signal, you can have the ecu fall back to wasted spark and continue to run.) Keep up the good work.

no need to repeat everything Herman just said in the video

Hi Herman, big up. Your tech is amazing. I have a Toyota starlet 1.3 😮turbo using the dizzy is garbage. We run megasquirt and it doesn't allow us to utilize 36-1 (crank)+ 24-1 (cam) which is what we have. Can we utilize this for that aspect 1. And 2 i run a crank gear on one of my motors but need a cam signal for sequential. The dizzy wont do it so... How can i utilize this technology on both engine setups?

We needed all this sh1t 20 years ago when it was relevant. Now gtrs and rb26s are so far outside of what people can afford that its become well outside of what people actually want. Nowhere near what we need!!!

If anything, we feel the amount of people building cars and engines around the RB engine platform is even more popular now. If none of what we produce is what you need and you do have some ideas about what we should be manufacturing let us know, we're always open to new ideas!

Just look at hks r33 drag car and you realize that oem cam sensor is just enough.The chances your car gonna run fine is a lot. Just like the way they been driven in race tracks and streets all these years. in my application using this kit was a mistake. The sensor goes bad or you have clearance issues your car won’t work good. you need to open that crank pulley and timing belt out. I had clearance issue but my tuner said prp have problem with these sensors going bad and just imagine how much work we need to do every time it fails. Unlike prp the oem sensor takes 5min for replacement and chances you getting into problem with your regular 500-600hp setup is very close to 0. Don’t make this mistake guys these cars been running like this for years. On my other car I had oem cam sensor and bigger turbo revs all the way to 8500rpm making around 600. Never had any issues in years.

Awesome products coming out of PRP. As an RB30 single cam'r here, it was so satisfying to put the PRP bung where the distributor used to be, along with the coil and trigger kit. Fantastic stuff.

Hey, nice video 💪💪 Why the cam trigger should be adjustable when you can adjust the offset on the ecu?! Can anyone explain it by other words?
@BossGarage3 ай бұрын
From my understanding, it's to adjust if crank and cam signal tooth are aligning up to each other. But as they're two separate signals, I didn't understand why that's an issue!
