So Ukraine’s membership in NATO is considered by them a direct threat to Russia. If the West wants to have any civil relationships with Russia in the future should consider only strong economic and political engagement with Ukraine like EU membership for example. The country should be strictly neutral and free of military interference in order to respect Russia’s interests. Russia however should be isolated held accountable for any interference with Ukraine’s and Europe’s political system.
