If cars on your lane bunch up and you wanna go faster ->> overtake in center lane. Center lane driving below speed limit as well? ->> Overtake them in the fast lane (left). Simple.

If the government wanted to control you then they'd shut the power off at all gas stations leaving you stranded, you don't have an oil field in your backyard but you can put solar panels in your backyard or do just about anything to generate power to charge your EV. And EVs are far more reliable than any gas car ever will be, when was the last time your phone broke down?
